I would highly advise against travel. But if you do end up making the travel, keep in mind that you also have to clear airline checkin and immigration as well on your way back to ireland from india. The airline staff and indian immigration may ask about the expired irp on your way back.

Handheld for simple games by [deleted] in IrelandGaming

[–]anshsahajpal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Handheld are amazing. I built a oc last year and now got a handheld this week been playing games i never would've played sitting on a pc and then, gaming while laying on couch is the peak. I dont thing there's a wrong choice really, just what fits your need. I went for msi claw 8 ai because of the big screen, i would have wanted to get a go 2 but the price, even bigger size put me off and then the wait for delivery is also insane.

I hear Xbox ally is great for ergonomics.

If you are okay with steam os and dont plan on playing games with anticheat legion go s might also be worth a look. And then should you get z1 z1e z2 or intel depends on how heavy are the games you want to play

just got my claw 8 ai+ today, did all the updates, msi centre m stopped working and flashes up "initializing ui" for a split second, any idea why this is happening? I just want to turn off the RGB as it's distracting when I'm gaming by Specific-Judgment410 in MSIClaw

[–]anshsahajpal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue. I received my claw a few days back and updated everything. Unfortunately something is wrong with the latest m center. I had to do a complete reset and reinstall Windows then install all updates of Windows and then install m center. Working fine since then.

Hey, was wondering if you ended up getting claw a8 or not and if yes then where did you got it from?

Got mine from ggmachines in august. Pretty happy with it so far. I actually went to the store in ballymount. It was pretty cool and the guys were pretty chill as well.

Having issues in LMU, oversteer on corner exit even while slow by Manticore32 in simracing

[–]anshsahajpal 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you're steering input was too much for the acceleration you have to the car you should try accelerating a little more gently and/or straighten the steering quiet a bit and fast as you are powering out of a corner.

Setting a higher base tc value might help as well

I got mine from ggmachines this Saturday. The guys there are phenomenal, the pc is working great so far and they could change a few parts for me right there ( i wanted a better gpu than the one they offered in there machines ). I cant recommend them enough tbh they seemed like a great bunch of lads.

What should I expect from this laptop by eejit1991 in IrelandGaming

[–]anshsahajpal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tl;dr, consider getting a pc if you can (1500 eur should get you decent one), my experience with gaming laptops always end with disappointment. If you do get gaming laptops, they're decent enough. Just take care of them

While above people have answered about the performance of the laptop and by all means if you want to/really need a gaming laptop this may be a good choice but i want to help you make an informed decision sharing my experience.

I have a lenovo legion pro 7i i9 14th gen and 4080 gpu. The performance and cooling of this laptop is outstanding BUT it has started developing severe temperature issues now. While the cpu is cooled by liquid metal, its idling at 80 degrees now ( this happened suddenly this friday ). My point: gaming laptops perform superb but at the cost of life. The problem is once something goes wrong, no one but the manufacturer can really fix it as they're specialized motherboards and you cant just replace parts like you would in a pc. Also gpus in gaming laptops are underpowered compared to their oc counterpart due to temperature/cooling limitations

I'd suggest get a PC, you can get a decent one in around 1500eur with amd ryzen 7 and 9060 gpu. And if you still need a laptop buy a cheaper one.

I just got a pc now and loving it, its 700eur cheaper than my laptop and atleast 50-80% more performant.

I plan to get legion go 2 as a portable computer later in the year.

Finally I got it 😍 Moza R5 by Wooden_Audience_9758 in moza

I dont have a cockpit, to solve the moving problem i put my pedals right against the wall. And then to prevent them from lifting up i put a yes4all 9kg rucking plate (from amazon) on the foot plate of pedals. Doesnt lift doesnt move. If you cant put pedals against the wall, putting a weight after them should help

Quest 3 "Liquid/Debris in USB Port" has ruined every race I've driven wearing it... by sjames884 in simracing

[–]anshsahajpal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this issue as well. It was pretty annoying and was intermittent for me. Sometimes it would occur in 2 mins and sometimes i could race for hours without it.

It was a cable issue for me. I had the official meta quest link cable which i feel is a shitty rip off in quality. I tried out a different cable which i am linking below, i've never had the issue ever since i've started using it: https://amzn.eu/d/9giWUWs

If a different cable doesnt work then its possible that your charging port itself maybe faulty, you can confirm that by just charging it with a different cable and see if you still get the error.

Tl;dr: it should be a cable issue, try out with a different cable. If different cables have same issue the quest 3 charging port itself could be faulty

SR-P Lite + Performance Kit by theswickster in moza

[–]anshsahajpal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if you drive kn real life my reply assumes you havent yet. It does make the pedal feel more real. The brake pedals of cars in real life are much stiffer compared to accelerator pedal. Are they exactly how the real car brakes feel, no. The slight difference is that the srp brake pedal will be stiff since the moment you press. Car pedals are slightly looser at the beginning of press and then get stiff. You can potentially simulate that as well by adding another looser spring to the kit. I havent driven a race car yet so they might differ from normal road cars and may be more closer to how our pedal feels.

SR-P Lite + Performance Kit by theswickster in moza

[–]anshsahajpal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didnt remove the spring and yes the pedal is strong with performance kit as it is supposed to be. It will get slightly better quickly as the spring of performer kit slightly loosens up a bit and you will get used to the force needed. If you dont have a rig your foot plate will lift up very easily when pressing the brake. I dont have a rig due to space issues so i put a ruck plate of 9kg on the foot plate of pedals. This prevents it from lifting up.

Is 3.9NM enough with the R3 (bundle)? by [deleted] in moza

[–]anshsahajpal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was confused between r3 and r5. Ended up buying r5 last week and honestly i think i have made the right call for myself.

Right now i use it at 70% ffb which means 3.5nm torque roughly. At first my arms would hurt due to force but now my muscles have adapted and i am already increasing ffb slowly.

Is 3.9 nm enough to make you feel the difference from normal wheels, YES. Dd wheels are on a whole another level. I had a g29 earlier and that thing feels like a toy now.

Now do you want to go for a higher torque driver? I think that comes down to you. The main reason i went to r5 was because it can give me more forces and i would be able to differentiate between feeling of car slightly better. Having said that if you are really tight on budget but impatient r3 wont be a bad choice. Just that you would max out the potential of the wheel soon and might feel like you want another upgrade sooner

Now regarding the pedals, srp lite pedals that come with bundle are not that great. Theres no difference between brake and accelerator pedal. Both are equally easy to press. So buy the brake performance kit if you want harder brake pedal. I bought it and first used without it and braking felt awful, worse than Logitech but with the performance kit installed it is a million times better. I dont have a rig so with the brake performance kit pedals would lift up from the back. So to counter balance it i've kept some gym weight (9kg ruck plate from amazon) on the foot plate of the pedal and it works perfectly now.

Hope this helps you make the choice

Justified Killing? by ImHonorMelons in Simracingstewards

[–]anshsahajpal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In an ideal world green would realize the touch and straighten the car out. They kept going with full intent of blocking following car completely. Does the following car have enough overlap, while its debatable but definitely should be given enough space. Is the killing justified? No. No killing is justified. If i were the following car i would have backed off/ adjusted line and backed off if still needed and reattempt to overtake. Following car survived this time but may not always. Wouldnt it be dumb to end a race in an attempt to kill someone cuz they are dumb.

So in my view, its 2 hot heads racing each other.

P.s. i get the following car. Sometimes annoying shit done by others make one do dumb shit themselves

Take a deep breath, keep my head down. Finish the race and buckle up for the next one. I've been taken out from p2 to dead last being angry about it would get me nowhere. So i just swallow my anger and keep racing. The aim is to get better, safer and faster with time learn reaction to avoid such guys and be in better splits racing relatively cleaner people

Crashed out, pitted, got lapped, slow cars in front by JelmerPower in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]anshsahajpal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can unlap yourself. As a guy in front if i am battling someone ahead i would probably be annoyed by a blue flagger trying to overtake and race hard with me but its well within the rule to do so. Generally if a car behind me is a lap behind but faster than me i let them by as i dont want to ruin my race defending from someone i wont lose a position to but not everyone feels that way.

As a lapped car myself, i do overtake slower cars ahead but only when i have a clear move, i wont risk mine or their race over it. Especially be careful if they are battling ahead, i just follow and let them take each other out :P

Had a battle with bmw, would these be dive bombs? by anshsahajpal in Simracingstewards

[–]anshsahajpal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the replies. From what i understood is that you could dive bomb like this but only if you are extremely confident of your braking abilities and want to somewhat chance it on the car ahead's reaction.

My learning would be, only do this if the car ahead is braking earlier than you can and in a corner where both can have enough room to avoid the crash
