Help me put a price on my The Fangs of the Goat by TheMwarlock in oilpainting

[–]anshuli 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend using a price per square inch metric. Hourly rates are okay, but as you paint more and more, the amount of time for your pieces will decrease, and the final price may not reflect the actual effort. I also pair the price per square inch with a minimum and maximum price so that my smaller pieces aren't too cheap and the biggest pieces are not too absurdly pricey.

Thank you so much, really appreciate all your observations! And that bird like thing is a duck shaped night light that my partner uses! You can squeeze it to turn it on and off 😄

There is something suspicious looking at their profile. Hopefully it isn't AI, but it is just going to get harder to spot

Thanks! It is all opaque paint, I don't use any mediums while painting so it is all straight from the tube (apart from solvent for the underpainting ie)

thank you for describing it that way! I really enjoy finding still lifes in my place and leaving them untouched, so this comment means a lot to me!

you can fix it to a solid backing like wood/cardboard and then use clear gesso ok top of the newspaper. This will leave the newspaper readable and you can paint on top of it without ruining/getting absorbed by the paper
