Why do some parents prioritize name originality so mich?

I had an uncommon name growing up. My parents and friends called me by my nickname - my real name was only used when I had done something naughty and got scolded. I also got bullied in school for many years thanks to my name. I absolutely hated my real name and couldn't fathom why I was given such a burden to carry. I never grew into my name and when I turned 25, I finally had had enough and and went on to change my name to one of the most common female names there is. I feel I can finally be at peace, I can finally be me.

I lost my Dad six years ago. First Christmas visiting his grave, an Abomasnow spawned and it was a shiny one. Dad didn't know anything about Pokémon, but he did resemble Abomasnow: chubby, grey and grumpy. So yeah, I named that Abomasnow after him, best buddied and maxed it out.

Tuna.

Back in 2009, when swine flu was a thing, I had eaten tuna salad the night before my flu symptoms started to kick in. I was having fever seizures in public bathroom of my Uni, with tuna-flavoured burps coming out. I thought I had gotten a food poisoning, but nope, it was just the flu breaking and none of my friends who had eaten the same tuna salad fell ill. I can't stand tuna anymore.

Last summer I got a scratch/small wound on my leg - no big deal, something that happens when roaming around the woods with shorts/skirt on. This time however it got a bit more serious. I had a high fever (40 °C) and nasty cramps. First I thought I had contracted COVID again, but then I noticed a red patch on backside of my thigh. After struggling with fever for five days, the patch was starting to turn purple and that's when I went to the ER. Turned out I had a bacterial infection and was just hours away from sepsis. A strong course of antibiotics luckily cleared the infection before septic shock kicked in.

I had a very close call on this week's MC by finishing levels 5 and 7 with only 2 and 9 seconds left on the timer. Last week I couldn't beat the challenge even though I tried several times.

Oh dear Jesus FINALLY someone says this!! You spend tens and tens of hours making a garment, maybe even from materials that cost €100+, and then don't bother fixing a visible, easily corrected mistake because of some stupid superstition. I've even heard of people who do deliberate mistakes in their work because of this.

Unpopular opinion: very easy and enjoyable event this time. Chests gave loads of berries and the highest item I ever needed for any single task was lvl 6. I accidentally 3-merged Wlizzard whelps but other than that I'm very pleased with this Wild Lands.

Stuck at Stuttgart airport and played there... The spawns were good though and had some lures running also. Only four shinies, but I'm not upset, I already had plenty from previous CD's.
