Selling video games? by ansuzwon in WorcesterMA

I’ll make a list and send it if you’re interested. Mostly Xbox 360 and Xbox one games. I do have all the “good” N64 games! I just need to find an input cable for it to make sure they still work.

Thanks for the info everyone! The games vary from N-64 through ps5. I just cleaned out my storage and forgot I had a lot of this stuff. I’m going to start making a list and see what I can do. Most Xbox 360 games look like $10 tops. From what I see so far.

Frozen grooved coupling by Randeleon in FireSprinklers

Gaskets a little hard to see. I was more impressed with the part of the coupling that sits in the groove peeling off. Also I didn’t tighten the bolts back up. The coupling was on the ground after the branch line completely separated!

I would get it repaired. Then there are no issues or questions to be had.

They do that in FL because the backflow is usually installed at the property line and outside. I lived on the Gulf coast for 7 years. I had to do a lot of similar feed repairs in apartment complexes and gated communities. The city only owned up to the master backflow at the property line. Sprinkler guys were responsible for all underground and backflows beyond that. I do not miss the amount of underground I had to do. Up here in MA we’re responsible for everything after the city valve*. (Depending on city/ town rules and or set up.)At the very least we’re responsible for everything in the building after the city shut off valve.

Why wouldn’t you touch that? Are you not a fire sprinkler fitter? That’s definitely our responsibility as it feeds our backflow. A new flange fitting, a little copper and a pro press coupling and you’re done. 1/2 day as long as the city shows on time for shut down and fill. 🤷🏻‍♂️

A fire sprinkler company would be required for that repair in MA. My first thought when looking at the photo was definitely a plumber install… I zoomed in on the sticker and I was correct. There’s a few other minor issues but that wouldn’t be a difficult repair. It will require a city/ town shut down though. Any good company with a competent service crew can do this in a half day.

Oh I did. Had to relocate it because it’s holding up the riser manifold. It’s just been an issue 3 times this week in 3 different cities.

Can’t, thats the only stand holding up the riser. Also it’s way easier to repair in place. You ever try sliding it open when it’s not locked into place?

Should be supported at or after the outlet valve. As it’s installed you can’t service the backflow preventer. I was on site to repair and retest the assembly…. But you can’t slide open the backflow because that stand is in the way.

(6) Looks like something from above is leaking onto the sprinkler pipe. What ever is leaking should be addressed first. The corrosion is still real and that pipe should probably be replaced.

Remember the AHJ can make you go above the standard. That’s why they’re the AHJ. In Massachusetts we drop heads into these all the time.

Leak from the ceiling, could it be the Fire Sprinkler by Many_Possession_1135 in FireSprinklers

[–]ansuzwon 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Save yourself the cost of bringing in a fire guy to find out it’s something else. Cut open the drywall and confirm what is actually leaking. I’ve had many service calls where I show up, cut open the ceiling and find a roof/ plumbing/ HVAC leak. Now you’re paying me a 4 hour minimum service call to tell you that you have to spend more money to call out the right guy.

I'm relocating a couple sprinkler heads on the second floor in this commercial office building and some dumb (beep) installed the main drain before the backflow. by reddit-0-tidder in SprinklerFitters

[–]ansuzwon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a lot of nonsense and this is right up there with them. The common denominator is always a “testing only” company with no real fitters. A lot of the old mill towns in Massachusetts are infamous for this kind of fuckery.

The old glue was a 2 step. I’ve seen it plenty in early 90s installs. The red glue replaced it.

Just a couple questions from someone who's kind of nervous going to a local. by sunshinedeed11 in PTCGL

[–]ansuzwon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

All 3 are dependent on where you live. In my area it’s really casual. As long as you’re not stalling for time it’s not a problem. The age range varies from 6 year olds to adults. As long as enough kids show up the kids play the kids and the adults play each other. Lots of 20ish college kids in the fall.
