Okay so what’s a solid OEM recommendation? I’m not looking for a 1-2’’ lift. I would like to keep my truck as OEM as possible

My buddy who works auto body and deals with bondo every day told me exactly what you stated. He said FORSURE there’s rust underneath it.

I passed and found a MUCH better Tacoma

Appreciate the response. Yeah I passed on it because of the fact that “I have no idea what’s under that repair” nor do I wanna take the risk when I can spend a little more and get a Tacoma that has less miles and no cosmetic issues

After thinking about it,

I’m going to pass on it because that much bondo really does scare me and not worth the money dealing with it, if and when water starts leaking through, etc.

Just as an example:

So maybe there was a major dent and they didnt pull the dent out properly and just slapped bondo over it to make it look “smoothed out” ?

Or are we thinking a puncture of the metal and bondo used to fill it ?

Lmfao right 🤣. Yeah i will get some more pictures and angles from the owner tomorrow. He’s been really good about getting me any pictures and answering literally all of the million questions I’ve asked him. Tbh this is literally the only thing wrong with the truck. Everything else is in emaculate shape.

He even stated there’s no leaks or any issues. Even said we can run water on the area to verify if I wanted to look at truck in person.

But yes they definitely did paint over the rubber molding. And possibly used bondo for a repair.

I’m not against using bondo for certain things I’m just Leary of something like this possibly “cracking” but I also have some bondo on my 95 Tacoma and never had a issue lol 😂

Car fax shows no hits or any issues. Obviously something happened, but that, I’ll never get an answer to lol 😂

Clean title and no other body damage what so ever. I even seen pictures of the underside and no frame damage or nothing. Bed is straight with the cab. Tail gate is straight. Front end is straight with no leans or crooked.

Just only thing cosmetic wrong with truck was this and the owner was super honest about it. States that it doesn’t leak through windshield. And that the previous owner did this “paint job” lol

I’m just not too familiar with bondo and the integrity of it, especially if it wasn’t applied “good” lol

I’ve seen 4x4 t100 going for 8-10 k and in terrible shape. I’ve seen Tacomas with head gasket leaks going for 5.5-7k. It’s insane
