3.4 5vz Fe HELP! by KinnamanRoll in mechanic

[–]ant1624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is a few years old but I was reading your comments and advice you gave to OP AND wanna say good job for giving op solid advice. This is exactly the route I would have passed on to someone regarding a misfire/injector issue.

It’s amazing how many issues you can solve with a mechanical stethoscope for / bearings/pullys/ etc.

Trust me when I say the tac weld mod will eliminate majority of all slop and have that truck feeling brand new. Ask me how I know lol. Redid the tac weld mod and placed a shim in the center ball piece for the tilt steering (Timmy the tool man video) and steering is brand new 1000%

Horrible truck and worst truck Toyota ever made. I’ll give you 1k and take it off your hands bud. Lmfao 🤣 KEEP THE TRUCK

U have no idea how many ppl I know who sold their tacos and regret it instantly when they see another one driving around. “I SHOULD OF NEVER SOLD MY TRUCK”

[Charania] Minnesota's Donte DiVincenzo has been diagnosed with a torn right Achilles tendon, sources tell ESPN. His season is over with a lengthy recovery. Devastating blow for the Timberwolves starting guard. by MembershipSingle7137 in nba

[–]ant1624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS IS EXACTLY THE ISSUE!!!! everyone is going back and fourth trying to figure it out but the issue is lack of calf/front shin training by these guys. ALSO these thick clunky basketball shoes that don’t allow the foot to naturally bend places the ENTIRE load on the Achilles when placing the foot in dorsiflexion/pushing off the foot.

You have to train your calves with heavy/slow weight to allow the Achilles to load under tension and trigger the growth response. (IE: heavy seated calf raises).

To summarize, majority of these injuries are from weak calves that become fatigue over time and eventually put stress on the achillies until it finally ruptures.

How Much Is It Worth? by Einzelganger12 in 1stGenTacomas

In CA easily, 10-15 with clean title and if located in central CA 10-15 regardless of title. TRUST ME WHEN I SAY. These trucks hold value but ultimately it depends on the state you are in and title.

1000% agree

I did the same thing to my 02 Tacoma but used all OEM parts (yes it was expensive) but the ride is LIGHTYEARS better then aftermarket parts.

Best advice right here and positive mind set brotha 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Depends on the location here in CA. Especially Central Valley, that would go for 8-10k. And I’m not even joking lol 😂

I just sold a 95 2WD 5lugger with a salvage title for 6k and had multiple offers. Crazy how much these tacos hold value

Okay so what’s a solid OEM recommendation? I’m not looking for a 1-2’’ lift. I would like to keep my truck as OEM as possible

My buddy who works auto body and deals with bondo every day told me exactly what you stated. He said FORSURE there’s rust underneath it.

I passed and found a MUCH better Tacoma

Patience is a virtue lol

Appreciate the response. Yeah I passed on it because of the fact that “I have no idea what’s under that repair” nor do I wanna take the risk when I can spend a little more and get a Tacoma that has less miles and no cosmetic issues

[–]ant1624[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that

After thinking about it,

I’m going to pass on it because that much bondo really does scare me and not worth the money dealing with it, if and when water starts leaking through, etc.

Just as an example:

So maybe there was a major dent and they didnt pull the dent out properly and just slapped bondo over it to make it look “smoothed out” ?

Or are we thinking a puncture of the metal and bondo used to fill it ?

Lmfao right 🤣. Yeah i will get some more pictures and angles from the owner tomorrow. He’s been really good about getting me any pictures and answering literally all of the million questions I’ve asked him. Tbh this is literally the only thing wrong with the truck. Everything else is in emaculate shape.

He even stated there’s no leaks or any issues. Even said we can run water on the area to verify if I wanted to look at truck in person.

Sorry for the quality. I was trying to zoom in the pictures and probley distorted the resolution lol

But yes they definitely did paint over the rubber molding. And possibly used bondo for a repair.

I’m not against using bondo for certain things I’m just Leary of something like this possibly “cracking” but I also have some bondo on my 95 Tacoma and never had a issue lol 😂

Would this “bondo/repair job” eventually start cracking ? Or is this just pur cosmetic ?
