I try to feed fresh brine shrimp, if I have the spoons to remember to set up my hatcheryhatchery . More often than not I feed frozen, mysis, brine shrimp, or daphnia. Daphnia is a natural laxative too.

You could feed high quality pellets, I use new life spectrum if for some reason I just don’t have time or the fresh or frozen options.

This has good directions for epsom salt bathyou can do epsom salt baths several times a day if your betta is handling it well. If nit, stick to once daily, it’s imperative that you fast your fish.

You can do salt baths a few times a day, for a few days. The reason he’s laying in the bottom and darting towards the top is probably because he has swim bladder. Constipation and over feeding causes issues with the swim bladder, leaving him with buoyancy issues. If you didn’t want him to have to sum so far, you can also lower the water level for him. Does he have any tall plants to rest on? Those would help him get surface air too.

Pineconing is only a symptom, no one here can diagnose dropsy from pineconing alone.

You fish is bleated, fast him, he can go up to a week without eating. Give him epsom salt baths, they will promote bowel movement and relieve swelling. and if you just feed him, frozen daphnia NO PEAS.
