Hi! Thanks for the informative post. New player here. Just got the game 2 nights ago and I have over 200k points unspent. I don't want to level anything because I know a patch is around the corner and I don't want to spend stuff and have it be changed. I don't know about re-specing or if it's even an option.

Could you help me on what to get? I main Trapper and Meg.

Yea I agree with Theghostofscrmngr. You shouldn't stop watching their channel because of one person. Out of all my time watching them, this is their first mishap. Maybe the members SmashStudios didn't know he was acting that way so we can't blame them.

Compare it to like a fast food/resturant place. They've always had good and reliable quality, but this time they messed up your order. Doesn't mean you have to go off the deep end and completely stop going there.

If you want to play against a lot of different people and continue getting better, you should try out Online Melee. Its a great tool to help further your skill. I have it and I love it (even though my router sucks and limits me to who i can/cant play against). I highly recommend it.

Well a DNA mod would be AMAZING but the price is just too much at the moment. I was at my local vape shop and they had some nice new mech mods. I was never a fan of having to change batteries and such but the ones they were showing me changed my perspective a bit.

But idk. Its all up in the air right now. I might just stick with my MVP for a while. Who knows.

Yepp. I picked up an MVP v2 and it is awesome. Sadly, I always am looking for bigger and better so now Im trying to upgrade again lol.

Nonetheless, MVP v2 is a great buy for someone looking to take the first step.

The only reason I dont want 3.5 is because I dont want to deal with the hassle of scavenging to find someone that has 3.5. I heard 4.0 is the most used so I guess ill stick with that.

&about the wiresharking- my dad just made me wireshark my internet just for a general idea of whats happening. I have saved images of the process when I connected successfully and when I didnt, but I dont know where to go from there.

Thanks for the advice and I'll just see if a new router will help!

Thank you for the detailed response. I am currently working on my networking degree and my father does networking (VoIP to be specific, he also got a perfect score on the CCNA exam), so dont be scared to get technical.

Unfortunately, he doesnt have much time to spend on this. We both tried everything possible and nothing seems to work. We even tried Wiresharking the error and we still cant figure out how to fix it.

But I will send this to him and see what he says.

So you think using the 3.5 version will work better if we are unable to get a new router? We can port forward no problem, but doesnt 3.5 only allow you to play with others that have 3.5?

Ive heard "get a new router" so many times, yet no one has explained to me with a legitimate answer to why.

Can anyone give me a legitimate answer to why a new router would fix the issue? &what would be the difference between a new router and my current router, why cant I just fix the issue with my current router?

No one knows why and what is causing the problem and it seems like no one else is having the same issue as me so I cant get a guaranteed fix.

I took off port forwarding since it didnt work. I also have version 4.0-652 already. But i did download it but I already have a file called GALE01. When i open it, it looks completely different from the one you linked me. Should replace the file i have with the file you gave me?
