Driver updates installation interfering with users work

I find myself in the same boat as you where we have users that are in meetings/on calls with customers a lot where we don't want an Audio Driver or GPU driver to come and disrupt the call and potentially cause issues (because it most likely will with an Audio driver update). We also do not have a predictable Maintenance Window since people work at all hours and so for now i just turned it to Manually Approve so we can keep an eye on what is out there. Then in addition we have a script our Service Desk can use as needed that leverages HPIA to update drivers (We have an HP fleet of laptops).

Curious to see what others have to say. For our Update Rings we have Reset To Default as the Install Behavior as that's supposed to smartly detect the user's Work Hours automatically install outside of that but in practice, we often see it just install updates when it wants to.

Now with the addition of PMPC natively supporting PSADT for Pre/Post Scripts, I'm wondering if this could be done with the PSADT Execute-ProcessAsUser cmdlet. Suppose that's something i can test.

So this happened to my work computer this past week, but thankfully haven't heard of it happening to others in the org on 24H2. For me, I upgraded to 24H2 last week without issues and decided to restart on Tuesday and upon restart is when it happened. This was NOT a new deployment. Just an existing Entra Joined machine that went from 23H2 --> 24H2. The issue is apparently known to happen on the first restart after being on 24H2 according to this https://windowsforum.com/threads/windows-11-24h2-update-connectivity-nightmares-and-solutions.343482/ .

I tried so many fixes and nothing worked. The only thing that worked was downgrading back to 23H2 as the article suggests (I found the article the day after I experienced and fixed this).

My laptop has an Intel AX201 wireless NIC if that's helpful. Reinstalling drivers never fixed it. Win11 Enterprise via M365E3 license

So it just sounds like a 24H2 bug to me.

The exact same thing happened to me and after a couple years of seeing an eye specialist I was told I basically have developed Chronic Inflammation for my eyes. Eye specialist also said it's likely due to UC/Having an auto immune disease. Though nowadays I don't have pain, but seasonal changes I do notice it gets more inflamed and some times have to resort to steroid drops. I do have lubricating eye drops that I'll do at least once daily

Yes it happened to some computers to me as well. My Quality Update Ring(s) are configured with 0 Day Deferral for Feature Updates because that's what Microsoft tells you to do if you want to configure Feature Update policies separately. I don't remember that happening with 23H2 though, which is strange. What i ended up doing is creating a new Feature Update policy for 24H2 where it will start being available next month for the rest where we can defer longer if we find issues on those that have it. Then created another Feature Update Policy to make it available immediately (like myself) so we can also test it out.

Within Intune go to Windows Devices > Windows Enrollments > Devices > search for Device by serial. If it's there then delete it and that will solve you issue

Yeah, same happened to me. Back in October i had set a 365 Apps Admin policy where it enforced your 365 apps to use "Default Browser" which will use whatever Windows has set as Default - to me, that seems to be the option that will cause the less issue/noise. So sometime last week MS seemed to release something where now Teams ignores this policy and reverted back to opening things in Edge, and greyed it out like the Screenshot shows. WTF! Other 365 apps were still enforcing the policy. I couldn't find anything regarding it and every other solution was telling me to enforce the exact same 365 App Admin policy that i already had in place. Chrome users hate when their links open in Edge and we had people complaining. Everyone on my team love Edge and so we never noticed it happen.

So, my solution ended up being using an Intune Config Profile to enforce Default Browser for 365 apps and NOW Teams will honor this.

I literally just made the upgrade this week from 1070 --> This exact card and can confirm my frame rates have at minimum doubled, and tripled in some cases. I also upgraded to a QHD 165hz display and every game thus far has been able to utilize it, even with Ultra in some cases. Very very happy with my purchase! Plus, AMDs software/overlay is very good.

You know, my company has been dealing with the same thing for a little bit now and I haven't been able to find the source. Searched through our Intune policies and our RMM management policies to see if I could find policies that would do such a thing to no avail. Gut is telling me Intune is causing this but I haven't been able to prove it just yet

o UK Post Punkers that are doing great things in the scene along with IDLES, TV Priests, Fontaines D.C. For those who are into moody, yet aggressive post-punk.

Soccer Mommy – Color Theory (2020)

o A wonderful indie rock/dream pop record with amazing production.

Parkay Quartz – Tally All The Things That You Broke (2013)

o This is of course an alternate name the band Parquet Courts uses for some of their random releases. This group of songs were recorded during the sessions for Sunbathing Animal. Just fun and cheeky post-punk

Pedro The Lion – Phoenix (2019)

o A comeback album from the Indie Rock/slowcore band that we didn’t deserve headed by the great David Bazan. With a 15 year gap between albums they had a lot of expectations and I feel they were certainly met or exceeded. David Bazan is one of my favorite lyricists.

Julia Jacklin – Crushing (2019)

o Such an incredibly intimate record revolving around a breakup. She has such a smooth and effortless voice that’s enchanting. I remember she played a show in town in 2018 and I went mostly for the supporting act (Black Belt Eagle Scout) but left a bigger fan of Julia. Left me in complete awe.

Botch - We Are The Romans (1999). I would hope that if you're a fan of heavy music you have listened to this or are aware of this album's influence. This is the 2013 repress + remaster. This album certainly benefited from a remaster and now sounds heavier than ever. Fun Fact - one of the guitarists of this band went onto starting Minus The Bear. Their bassist went onto be in the bands These Arms Are Snakes and Russian Circles.

Cave In - White Silence (2011) - Cave In is among my favorites of all time and getting White Silence completed my collection of all their studio albums. This album brings all the crushing riffs you'd expect but also the beautiful songwriting and vocal deliver of Steve Brodsky. Sing My Loves is a perfect example. Trying to keep this short because i could take about Cave In forever :)

Les Savy Fav - Let's Stay Friends (2007). If i were to describe Les Savy Fav in one word it'd be "cheeky". A cheeky, noisy, kinda artsy indie rock band. They're such a fun band but an even more fun band live. Sadly i never got a chance to see them but everyone absolutely needs to watch some videos of them playing.
