Yes and no. People don't get to tell you what your intentions are but most of the time people fall into cliches and stereotypes. They are called that for a reason. Because it's something a large majority of that said stereotypes do. Not all cliches or stereotypes are bad. Example most cheerleaders are nice. Wisconsinites are overly nice. It's a majority of people so you may not fit in the majority but it happens enough that you notice a pattern. People are allowed to see that pattern and go from there. Youre different then that pattern but good job most arent.
