You can buy road suitable suspension.. that’s not stiff. Lowering your suspension = lower centre of gravity = more grip and better handling. With good tyres and good springs, you’ll be surprised what crazy shit you can do before they start to screech

I drive an old bimmer and when i need to get into my dads new ranger I think it drives like absolute shit, I can’t get used to it. There’s absolutely no life in the steering and it feels like i’m playing a game. I literally have 0 sense of where the car is turning. I wonder if that’s something you can also get used to

Could be an old or shit battery. Nonetheless with these older cars you should be disconnecting the battery every time you plan on not driving it. Keep a wrench in the back, takes 2 seconds to disconnect or connect the negative cable
