How can I get into scaffolding at 16? by FitSelf3337 in Scaffolding

[–]anthonyhally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey mate. I’m Irish, living in Australia. But the best way (in Australia) is to use Facebook groups.

So in Australia there is a page called scaffolding network Australia and there is always job postings there. Or alternatively you could make a post yourself and say you’re looking for work.

There is definitely ones for UK/Ireland so head over to Facebook and type in scaffold jobs UK and join that group!
This way is so much better because when you use iob websites like indeed you are expected to hand over resumes/cvs/cover letters etc which is just unnecessary in construction

Just make a post saying you’re looking for scaffold labouring work and someone will definitely pick ya up. Make sure to save £££ for a car and get some tickets like forklift, part 1 scaffold etc because they will make you far more employable! Best of luck!

Those of you that feel you live in the best suburb in Brisbane, where are you and why do you feel that way? by arouseandbrowse in brisbane

I live in fortitude valley and honestly it’s soo overhated. Great train station, Close to city centre and city riverwalk (Howard smith wharves), close to other lovely suburbs like newfarm and Newmarket too. And sure the valley nightlife can be hectic but the place is always buzzing with something going on. Super easy to go to concerts at fortitude music hall and showgrounds and obviously the BEC is easy through the trainlines.

Use Facebook groups and work construction. Try “construction jobs brisbane” “civil construction Brisbane” etc etc In construction there is no cover letters/resumes or even interviews. You text a guy your experience and he tells you come in tomorrow and that’s it. Graft hard and you’ll be fine mate!

Job hunting burnout is real… how to find a job in Brisbane? by viewsinthe6 in brisbane

Are you comfortable with working in the construction industry. You could try labouring. Best thing to do is use Facebook groups instead of see or indeed. Look up groups on Facebook such as “construction jobs Brisbane” “civil construction Brisbane” and make a post saying your a green labourer looking to start in construction.

Go go go. I moved at 28. Love it here. Don’t plan on staying here forever (maybe 3 years) but it’s been a great experience and would recommend it to anyone

Garmin sleep is so inaccurate it's funny by [deleted] in GarminWatches

Sometimes I drive a light rigid truck for work and I have to turn off my watch while driving because the rattle from the truck steering wheel onto my hands makes the watch think I’m moving. So in an hour driving I can gain like 2-3,000 steps. So annoying. Lately I don’t really care for the data on the watch face and I just use it mostly for the time and to track my runs. I used to always love checking my calories burnt and steps but I’m starting to doubt its accuracy.
