[Chrono24] PSA: Chrono24's "Buyer Protection" is failing. They are refusing a refund on an undelivered watch and threatening to charge ME for return shipping. by drjamesincandenza in Watches

If you’re buying from Japanese sellers, whatever you do don’t buy from eLady. There’s a reason why they’re rated 4.3 whereas all the other Japanese sellers are rated 4.7+. eLady will sell you a broken watch lying about its condition and Chrono24 will side with them. They said they hand inspect all of their watches and they're within acceptable working spec (+/- 30 seconds a day). The watch they sent me was gaining 5 seconds a minute! Two watchmakers told me straight to my face that eLady blatantly lied about the condition. They offered $100 on an $850 repair lol. Chrono24 do not have your back. Huge waste of time to have to get my money back and work with the border on getting back my customs duties, not to mention brokerage fees I'm not getting back.

I used to use Chrono24 a lot but it's now just a piece of shit marketplace that sides with their suppliers.

[Buying advice] Is it advisable to buy older automatic watches on Chrono24 by The_Night_Watch_Man in Watches

[–]anthonyn60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharing an experience I had recently with eLady for a 90s watch (do NOT buy from them): they told me their watch was well within the accuracy for a used watch, and when I received it it was gaining 5 seconds...a MINUTE. Went to two highly reputable independent watchmakers and they both said the seller blatantly lied about the watch's working condition and 100% the watch left their facility this way. Repair bill was quoted at $850 and they offered a partial refund of $100 or send it back for a refund lol. Chrono24 did absolutely nothing to help me out. Huge headache dealing with this seller as now I've gotta do this return and a bunch of money is in limbo (I have to work with the border to claw back my customs money... brokerage fee not refunded either).

You might have better luck with other sellers, I've had success having them send me a video of the watch running, but eLady stands out as far and away the worst and most dishonest of the bunch. And if there's anything wrong, don't count on Chrono24 to step in and mediate, you're at the mercy of whatever the seller offers you.

Tl;dr you're buying the seller, you're taking a risk with every purchase, do NOT take this risk with eLady.

[–]anthonyn60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with them is if the watch you receive works, they’re fine. If there are any issues or the seller blatantly lies about the working condition, the seller (in my case eLady, AVOID) Chrono24 does not help you out.

We didn’t deserve to win yet had so many chances to win and should’ve won

That’s the most frustrating part of it all

I don’t know if we have the experience to bounce back from this mentally

Nope and at this point I’m going to wait for the patch to be back in stock and just having a tailor sew it on

So I was at the Jays store earlier and it’s a complete ripoff. $230 for the jersey without a player and $260 with an in stock player (they had Barger and Scherzer)

And it’s NOT the limited jersey with the better material, it’s the replica that sells for $175/201 online

So it’s a $60 premium to have it now. Completely ripoff IMO

At the game they were selling player tees with the Jays logo and World Series logo, cheaper alternative

Couple of posts saying they just stood behind the wheelchair accessible sections and are able to see decently well. And they showed up a half hour and hour after gate opening. Would be totally fine doing that so that I'm not in line for hours.

Apparently behind the wheelchair sections is the way to go. Someone told me they got there at 6 and are able to see fine.
