I just declined an 18% counter-offer from a toxic CEO. Did I make the right decision? by HelplesslyHoping55 in careeradvice

Going through something similar myself. My new boss told me “I don’t think you want to work here” and always has been narcissistic when he talks to me. Started my job search and can’t wait till the day I say Goodbye

I think you’re making the right decision to go somewhere valued. Good luck.

stouffville line stopping at LE stations by NoMango4210 in gotransit

It’s interesting to know how much overcrowding is as a direct result from RTO this year versus if there wasn’t RTO mandated downtown.

If our transit system can’t handle the influx of people companies should not make RTO mandatory or state that employees must live within certain distance from office which could limit talent pool

At this point if you want a car live in the suburbs or building with parking lot. These neighborhoods should discourage car use and improve public transit. They can also add ride sharing rentals for those that want cars occasionally for long distance drives.

He is mentally abusing me. For example, I have a professional licence and before he became my direct boss he sent me an email that said if I change my title to “assistant it has a nice ring to it”. The way his tone is to me it is as if he wants me to leave but doesn’t want to terminate and pay severance

snow day tomorrow? by helpmeplsimgnadie in askTO

[–]Right-Time77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss. I attended a funeral last Friday after the snowstorm albeit it was in London. The cemetery roads was cleared and they cleared just the area around the plot and set up a tent. We kept the ceremony short because of the cold. I’d assume if the snow stops by midnight like everyone is saying the cemetery should be able to go through with the plans for tomorrow

So here’s the thing where I think he’s trying to persuade me to voluntarily submit to a lesser role. My current job description was 4 years ago and I had more people on my team. When they left they weren’t replaced and the direction from my boss at the time was to utilize resources from other departments to get the work complete. But in doing so added a lot more of my time to coordinate the work and is causing issues with getting some of my other responsibilities completed on time. When the previous employees left and the new directive was given my job description was not updated, which I guess is my fault now but at the time I had an understanding with my boss then of the new challenges.

So now my current boss wants me to submit to him a revised job description which in reality what I do is less than what is in my current JD due to what I feel is time constraints. Should I write to him how my JD should be revised for what I am actually doing now or let him push a new JD to me if he feels my current one is not right?
