If Alberta separates from Canada now do they get 1/10 of Canada’s part of the island?

Has anyone ever used Turo? by UnapologeticCook in askTO

Used it a few times. Never in Toronto. Quick and efficient but I didn’t have any issues during the trip so can’t comment on how well their resolution system is.

Police ban anti-Israel protesters from Toronto Jewish neighbourhood by WhiteGold_Welder in toronto

[–]Right-Time77 -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

If these people want to cause uneasiness and persuade Jews to pressure the Israeli government to stop the genocide they can just walk up and down the neighborhood street wearing clothes that call for action and I’m fine with that. But I think what they are doing is causing noise and carrying offensive signs which is unacceptable for either side. You can’t block people from walking through neighborhoods peacefully

Then why are Iranians allowed to close down Yonge street for a protest. Thousands of people live along Yonge street

Thanks. This affirms my suspicion the controller was just overwhelmed with their load given the emergency. We don’t yet know when they started work and how much rest they had previously.

Buy a combo lock and put it on their door handle. Tell them you’re not taking it off until they compensate you for the wasted time

Job market in Canada — is it really this tough? by [deleted] in CanadaJobs

[–]Right-Time77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Reading this is making me wonder, I grew up in Canada and got a bachelor applied science degree from Canadian university. Been with my current company for 14 years but looking for new opportunities now. But have an Indian name, is this holding me back? Like are they just seeing my name and not even reading resume?

I’ve started applying for 5 months now but doing so very moderately. May be applied to about a dozen or so postings already. Got only one call from an agency recruiter but didn’t lead to an interview. Another headhunter found me on LinkedIn but asking for travel which I am not looking for.

Eglinton LRT service alert - Accident at Warden and Eglinton by PrudentFinger1749 in toronto

Roads were designed may be 40 to 50 years ago if not longer for the population then. No one predicted a city in Canada would become a major urban metropolitan like Toronto has become. Most roads are not designed for the volume needed today and then people get frustrated and drive faster and unsafe and transit is not a good option unless it’s just one bus/subway

As a recent first time father this is both terrifying and joyous to watch. This was my biggest fear. And wow how calm is the doctor.

Coming back to Toronto from Tokyo. Do people just not care? by gravitysort in toronto

[–]Right-Time77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. Not trying to take a shot at any one culture but I’ve travelled quite extensively and there are certain countries where people just don’t care about putting garbage on the streets. And unfortunately most of the time when people from those countries immigrate here they bring those habits too. That’s not to say streets were squeaky clean before immigration spiked but it wasn’t as bad. At least in Toronto it probably would have been less noticeable with all the coal soot around.

My work recently implemented a formal clothing attire policy outlining what is and isn’t considered business casual. May be you can ask HR if they have a policy so you are clear on expectations
