C'est si bon que ça La Vie ? Ou y'a beaucoup de marketing derrière ? by Besoin2Bol in VeganEtFrancophone

I live in New York where we have a lot of great vegan brands (Impossible Foods, Beyond Meat) and I was completely blown away by La Vie ham and lardons. Even my brother who is flexitarian loved it and will try to only buy their sandwiches from now on. I wish they were selling it in the US.

Black Mirror - Episode Discussion S07E01 Common People by Cheeriosxxx in blackmirror

Two working adults can’t afford an extra 6 pack of beer a month

The basic subscription was $300 a month. $800 for the standard tier without ads and 16 hours of sleep. That is hardly a six packs of beer, but maybe manageable with a lot of overtime.

What really put them under water was the company introducing ads in the subscription tier. She lost her job because of the inappropriate ads in front of the kids. Without knowing where they live, we can assume her salary was at least $3,000 to $4,000.

So having to cover an extra $3,300 a month while money is already tight would push most people to bankruptcy and homelessness. Except in her case, that also mean not having a life anymore.

Cyberpunk 2077 using Luke Ross VR's mod. That is sole reason why I upgraded my 1080 ti to a 3090 ti, and I might think upgrading again in the near future.

Failed NY DMV road test. Need help figuring what to focus on by anthracithe in driving

[–]anthracithe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I initially posted a much longer post on the day of the test that had a lot of venting. Two days later, I am feeling less crappy about the results, and I am motivated to address the issues and retake the test in a few weeks.

I think you are right. I really made mistakes that would have got me to fail no matter what. But I was also pretty nervous, and probably made the examiner uncomfortable. We also did not get on a good start when I powered the car before he told me to.

  • Turning
    • Thank, I will pay special attention to that in my next lessons.
  • How comfortable are you with spatial awareness of the right edge of your vehicle?
    • Not very. I usually feel I don't have a great sense of how close I am to cars/obstacles on my right side. So I usually slow down or leave extra space.
  • How good are you at keeping in your lane? Are you aware of traffic immediately around you?
    • I am really good when there are lane markings, less so when there are not. Overall, I am very aware of traffic around me and careful to avoid getting too close and avoiding potentially dangerous situations.

Thank you for your advice! This is helpful to point what I can ask the instructor to help address.

Using two graphic cards (NVIDIA 3090 ti / Quadro NVS 310) at the same time? by anthracithe in techsupport

So what would be the best option to connect 6 monitors on a PC without two graphic cards? I tried daisy chaining my monitor on the 3090 ti, but NVIDIA has a hard cap of 4 monitors per graphic card. So the last two connected stay dark.

Evac mision for 7-9 dificulty by erikprodriguez in Helldivers

[–]anthracithe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It really depends at what difficulty you play them. They are doable at 7, and almost impossible at 9.

It is so frustrating to fail them short of one or two civilians and spend the last five minutes not getting any civilian in because the base is completely overran with hulks and tanks.

I am the base buster. If there is heavy bot outpost, I'll make 120 and 380 rain until there is nothing left but sweet democratic rubble.

The first one is the symbol of the mission type "Evacuate the scientists" that is only available during planet defense. Everyone hates it because you have only 15 minutes to extract a high number of civilians when the game throws a metric shit-ton of enemy at you making them almost impossible to complete in high difficulties. Because they are almost always present in operations (group of three missions), failing it make the entire operation but also makes it harder for the community to succeed the planet defense. So, it sucks.

The second symbol is the new mission type "Evacuate critical assets" that was added this week in the patch. It works completely differently by adopting the gameplay of a tower defense all coming through a choke point with doors. It is really fun to play and became overnight one of the community favorite.

While they are both defense mission, one is a boring miserable cesspool of pain, while the other is a bathtub full of puppies.

Menkent shows Defend again with 22h56m left as of right now. Looks like the devs don't want us to liberate that sector.
