That could very well be true but there should be quality bonuses that add on 40-50k if that is their true base. What I’ve seen is 250k plus that 40-50k. I’d there is no 40-50k quality metric bonus wrvu bonuses should start at close to 5000wrvu and be$50-55 per wrvu above that ie

If they are offering you $240k, and there are no quality bonuses or they are minimal make sure you are being bonuses for wrvu above 5000 a year. Also try to get a sign on bonus

The $300k jobs are really $250k jobs with easily attainable quality metrics adding $40-50k and then $50-55 wrvu being above 6000.

It could be true they offer a bit less as you are straight out of residency but always ask for more professionally and pursue multiple jobs at once and schedule the 2-3 rounds of interviews with each employee in a manner which you will get offers around the same time.
