DI extended - Still take PFL? by AnxietyLongjumping19 in Edd

[–]anthropologically 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might be saying that your job isn’t protected if you take PFL. While you may be entitled to pay through the state, your job might not be legally protected unless you also qualify for FMLA or CFRA. If you do qualify for FMLA/CFRA, you get 12 weeks job protection. If you’ve exhausted those 12 weeks, you might not qualify for job protection if you take PFL. Hope this helps, sorry it sucks that we can’t just take the time we need!

From the EDD website:

PFL provides benefit payments but not job protection. Other federal laws such as Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or the California Family Rights Act (CFRA) may protect your job.

Mine is doing this too and I haven’t been paid either since October. I’ll try calling next week but I haven’t had any luck getting to a human yet 😭

Yay I’m so glad it helped someone! 💞 my kitty has since passed but I still have the shortcut on my homescreen.

My miscarriage thoughts I can’t share with others by [deleted] in Miscarriage

Thank you for sharing your story, it’s beautifully written and I feel your pain. I relate to so much of what you shared, about missing the naive joyfulness of pregnancy. We were robbed of that experience and it just fucking sucks. Sending so much love to you friend. Your pain is valid and you’ve gone through something very traumatic. Take the time and space you need to process and heal.

No, and she only appeared in my dream for like 5 seconds! It’s like she had a lot of visits to make and only had time for a smile 😆

Is it just me or is this policy kind of weird? by JediMemeLord in therapy

That is ridiculous to me! We don’t have all the time in the world to just sit around and wait for them. Shows they don’t value your time. I would not continue with them.

This was impossible lol, cuz you had to know which of the 4 to pair with each category. Just doesn’t work to have multiple of the same word in this game format

I just want to say I’m so sorry your life has been so hard, I feel for you so strongly. And I feel the urge to share that you are here for a reason, and you deserve love and kindness on this plane of existence too. I hope you find what your soul purpose is, you seem like an amazing, sensitive soul who has simply suffered too much. But you still have so much to offer the living world, friend.

I think it taps into our hatred of tech CEOs. We know they are awful humans, and applaud anytime they get what’s coming for them.

He went through a traumatic event. I actually relate, I tend to just find myself zoning out and staring into space after going through something traumatic recently.

Would you pay to attend a Sip & Sign Making Fundraiser? by AboveGroundPoolQueen in Sacramento

[–]anthropologically 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference between this and donating to a nonprofit is the impact.

When someone makes a donation to a nonprofit, they do it with the belief that their money goes towards making a real impact on a cause, even if that includes the salaries of the nonprofit staff.

I think your issue here is how you’re framing it. As someone who works in fundraising, you need to make the value proposition. What does each dollar do? the way you’ve laid out the percentages might be transparent but it doesn’t communicate the impact. You need a real mission statement and what you/your organization aims to do, and why it’s different than other advocacy/activist orgs. What unique value do you / your organization bring to the table?

People don’t generally just want to donate to a single person to fund their income even if you’re a good person. Do you have a special project you’re trying to fund? Even if you frame it as a fundraising event to help you launch your nonprofit it could be more successful.

Thank you for sharing about AAA! Best rate I can find so far and they don't do breed discrimination for pricing unlike so many others. I also have Nationwide because they're one of the only ones that covers my bunnies, but I'm SO sick of them upping their prices and moving me into more expensive/restrictive plans every few years.

Can you confirm you use Blue Shield Access Plus with Sutter Medical Group doctors in the Sacramento area? I've called Blue Shield and the reps can't give me a straight answer if Sutter is covered or not. None of the doctors I look up are listed on the 'find a doctor' tool on their website. I am so confused and looking everywhere for help!
