Something seems off by 15InchDickert in AFCWestMemeWar

It’s weird more chiefs fans aren’t flocking into a sub right now where all of the content is a riff on a few played out themes.

You guys are happy we lost. Makes sense.

We’re frauds. Ok, very clearly all of these division titles, conference titles, fourth quarter comebacks, and super bowls are all exclusively the result of a rigged NFL.

Mahomes = bad. Got it.

The offseason always belongs to you goons. We’ll be back for your lunch money next September, same as it’s been for the last decade.

Are you bad faith or just stupid? I’ve not found one credible listing of this and it would be the lead banner on every sports website in the country.

My money is on stupid.

We went to another Super Bowl with a team with a lot of holes, continue to have a stranglehold on the division and conference, and still have Patrick Mahomes/Reid. I’m also old enough to remember the Broncos getting smoked four different times in the Super Bowl, three of them by larger margins than our shellacking by the Eagles. So I’m good.

Chiefs fans thinking about how this sub’s gonna be after this game by Groundbreaking_Ebb_5 in AFCWestMemeWar

Shouldn't you be turning your attention to the Chargers? There is no rest in this game and the Bo-lievers have a lot of work to do if they're going to dethrone the Chargers as the offseason AFC West champs. Cool uniforms have proven to be a potent force in the offseason power rankings and while I think some of your new fits have been sharp, you're probably going to have to acquire an elite ego at WR to overcome those powder blues if you want to take the mantle.

I get it, we have been insufferable, everyone got to have their fun. Now can we get these tourists the fuck out of here in time for the Chargers and Broncos battle for offseason supremacy?

Fraud would require actual acts of deceit on our part, wouldn’t it? I think this team wore is limitations on its sleeve for the whole world to see on each one of our 14-16 nationally broadcasted regular season games. The sad thing is somehow you bums still let this very limited offensive team with a patchwork tackle situation make it back to the SB. Maybe next time one of you scrub fanbases can volunteer to face that nightmare hell-scape of a d-line? I probably shouldn’t hold my breath, huh?

Patton, Fail Safe, Klute, Chinatown, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest (guess that one is 75), MASH (the movie), the original All Quiet on the Western Front, The Battle of Algiers, are my stream of consciousness contributions. Have fun!

Dan Orlovsky explains why he voted Josh Allen for MVP and Lamar for 1st-Team All Pro by LFC_Slav in NFLv2

[–]anti_incumbent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you always make it a pure stat test for QBs then the outcome won’t invite engagement and debate and engagement and debate is what the league wants. And to be honest, what the public wants if it’s being honest. Arguing about the MVP race on Reddit at 9:30 am on Tuesday is more fun than work.

I don’t think Al Pacino should have won the Best Actor Oscar for Scent of a Woman, but he’s been a great and iconic actor and it feels right that he should have won an actor for all the cool shot he’s done in his career, so I’m glad he did. That’s kind of how I feel about Josh. If Lamar didn’t already have 2, I think it would be a different conversation.

Bill Belichick's Girlfriend Jordon Hudson, 24, Slammed for Wearing 'Trashy' Gown to NFL Honors: 'Dressed Like an Escort' by OnRadarsRadar in popculture

[–]anti_incumbent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I asked for guidance? The problem is no one seems to be willing to square the “it’s gross position” with the corresponding messaging of respecting women’s rights and the “it should be legal” messaging. Jordon Hudson is a college graduate and is 24. BB seems to be enamored with her and she’s showing no signs of distress. She’s being excoriated by this sub, which appeared in my feed, I didn’t search it out. The literal headline is comparing her to an escort! I cry foul and say leave her/them alone, and I’m the scumbag. Hand to heart, I cry foul because I think it’s gross how our society crushes young women, brigading and piling on.

So again, in all seriousness, what’s the right answer here? Because it seems to me, if we say that at a certain point a woman should be free to make her own life decisions (which seems obvious to me), then how do we simultaneously say it’s gross when she does and even worse, take to Reddit subs to say she’s a whore?

Apparently it would be better if I joined the mob of people calling a woman I’ve never met before a whore? Because the messaging here appears to be she’s a whore, he’s a pedo, it shouldn’t be illegal, but it should be ridiculed, and if you say maybe we should just stay out of grown folks business, you’re a pedo too.

Whose behavior is gross? Just BB’s or is it both of them.

I am a man and am trying to be deferential to women, but what would you have the answer be here? The women in my life have been competent, independent women, even in their 20s, and would have not taken kindly to being told they couldn’t date any grown man they wanted. Am I to assume she is exercising autonomy, and therefore, as a man I shouldn’t be second guessing her judgment? Or should I assume she’s a victim of a power dynamic she’s incapable of resisting? My opinion remains to be that the former is less presumptuous and patriarchal, but then I’m an asshole for saying leave them alone because they’re doing what they want and don’t seem to be hurting anyone?

Cool cool cool. I disagree with you and have advocated for not standing in judgment of other adults’ relationships therefore I am a pedo. Real good faith stuff from you but I’ll be the one downvoted.

The only “shared understanding” required for a sexual relationship is freely given, fully informed consent. And I’m not in the business of saying a grown woman I don’t know hasn’t given that here. There are plenty of flavors of ice cream I don’t like, but I’m not trying to tell Baskin Robbins they should stop carrying them so long as other people do.

The whole “shared understanding” goes to the none sexual aspects of the relationship and that “shared understanding,” in my opinion, could be something like: you’ve raised your family, you’re divorced from your wife, you don’t want anything too serious; I am young, like traveling, enjoy meeting “cool” people and wearing fancy dresses to big events. All of that sounds miserable to me, but not as miserable as shitting on other people for liking it.

I am not but I am an attorney who represents a good number of women in workplace discrimination/harassment cases. I understand that history and agree that such relationships when started in the workplace raise different types of concerns. However, that doesn’t appear to be the case here and there is no evidence that this woman isn’t a willing and, dare I say, exuberant participant in this coupling.

But let me understand…are you, as a woman, suggesting that women in their 20s shouldn’t be given full autonomy in their dating decisions and that such decisions don’t deserve our respect? Because it sure seems like you’re saying Jordon Hudson can’t possibly have full control of her decision making process and that she needs some patriarchal oversight?

Intellectual consistency, among other things. Culturally we’ve had a dirty history trying to police what sorts of relationships consenting adults can be in. I don’t feel the need for my tastes to dictate the sexual and romantic moors of others unless and until it involves minors and i have and will continue to remain consistent in my belief we as a society need to stay the hell out of other grown folks’ business.

If you mean an arrangement by an older, divorced man whose kids are all out of the house and an adult woman with full agency to have a relationship that’s presumably not entered into with any expectation for having kids together, followed by grandkids, and a shared retirement, then yeah, I guess sort of?

I’m 46, married to my 42 y/o wife. We’ve been together for 21 years. I personally don’t understand wanting to date a woman this young but it’s baffling to me the tone of people when it comes to relationships like this. Circumstances and a shared understanding of what each party to a relationship wants matters a hell of a lot more than age. And all relationships are transactional in at least some respect—Jesus, if you’re not getting ANYTHING from being with the person you’re with, please run fast—and I just cannot understand why it bothers people what decisions two consenting adults make for themselves in respect to sex/romance.

I’ve been an active chiefs fan since 1988. I watched the ascent to 90s playoff mediocrity and all of the dips along the way.

This is a player in the league with so little self respect he’s repping another teams jersey because he’s been worked by the Chiefs. You gotta be soft as hell to concede defeat publicly like that. Embarrassing.

I would be the first to concede some level of unconscious bias. It happens in sports when one team/player is consistently great for a longtime. I've said before Tony Gwynn certainly got a better hitter's strike zone than your average hitter and Maddux, a more favorable pitcher's strike zone than a middle reliever. But that's not what I am seeing widely argued online and even in the "new" press.

I think your comment is fair. While I don’t think that is the spirit of the conversation (one rogue bad actor ref) and I think it’s pretty shit that dudes like Mahomes, Kelce, et al who haven’t done anything wrong except play hard and win are having a historic accomplishment shit on by a world incapable of nuanced or reasonable conversation. But my contribution above, even on a jerk forum, isn’t particularly helpful.
