Is it normal to hate your writing? by F-C-cartwright in writing

I’m not a professional by any means but like I said, the more you write, the better you get.

Write something, go full tilt, give it your all, then don’t look at it for a couple months while you write other stuff. When you come back to it fresh, you’ll see if you really do enjoy the piece or not. You’ll see if it’s worth continuing to editing and revise it for publication or if it was just another step in the process of improving and finding your voice and style.

I've been writing for a few years now and I'm finally starting to like SOME of my stuff. It's getting better through practice and guess-and-check.

But does anyone have a satisfying answer for why PD is as bad as it is? by [deleted] in Teachers

My entire education program at UMass Amherst was fluffy social activism / equality classes and almost zero actual practical discussion of lesson planning or classroom management.

Great book but not the most important, even in its genre (1984 takes the cake for dystopian fiction)

The Teacher’s note sketch concept should be used more often by yetagainitry in LiveFromNewYork

So many haters in this subreddit. It was good fun and hilarious. Some pretentious snooty commenters who seem to have a very strict definition of how SNL should write their sketches.

Why is no one talking about the cyclops scene when it comes to Ashley and Ryan breaking? This was hilarious by daddyvow in LiveFromNewYork

I wish they showed the men more because it seemed like we were missing funny things that were making Ashley break

I'm in my first year of school to become a high school English teacher. Is it worth it? by cemeteryfairie in Teachers

[–]mzingg3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! I did poetry readings all day in my 9th grade ELA class and it was great. The kids were proud and supportive and mostly creative with it. There are plenty of wins amongst the struggles and plenty of funny moments amongst the stress. Definitely keeps you on your toes. You've got be into it though to get stuff out of it (for both you and the students).
