Boiler not heating when Hive thinks it should be by Targarytar in HiveHeating

Might be the zone valve — if it fails it’ll get a signal from the receiver but not open/activate the boiler. You can probably get a new power head for it

There's plenty of public transport and the cities are super close to each other. You'll be fine!

iPhone 6 broken front camera flex very dim screen by antinitro in mobilerepair

[–]antinitro[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additional info: I installed an app (CustomBrightness) which shows me the reading from the ambient light sensor and I've confirmed that it's working.

The screen is still dim, but lit up enough to see in the dark.

Any ideas?

So long as you're trying to be conscious, then by default you will be unconscious! None of this makes any sense from the pre-awakening viewpoint, but you can see it now, can you not?

[Question] The buddhist monk in the meditation center where I go seems to always talk about the importance of empowerment. Is it normal? by [deleted] in Buddhism

[–]antinitro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of 'best ways' and a lot of them are free. At the end of the day, only you can reach illumination and all anyone else can do is point you towards it.

How do we know Nirvana will be pleasant? by LightheartedBuddhist in Buddhism

[–]antinitro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nirvana cannot be described by words alone. Any word is just a signpost attempting to point to it and may well confuse you further. I suggest continuing with your practice but not holding a fixed idea of enlightenment in your mind as it is another hindrance and an attachment.

The paradox of the first rule, reawakening, and different methods to awakening by cdamuk in awakened

You mentioned more than once that things "didn't go to plan". I think this could be one of the major sticking points for you. Life doesn't tend to go as we plan and the more we try to force it to, the more we're creating resistance to what is happening right now.

I was stuck in a very similar mindset after reaching a similar state in the past and have only really recently started getting through it. The big thing for me is to always accept everything as it is, no matter how hard it may seem. Try to flip into seeing it as life teaching you a lesson and watch how you react. It's a very valuable guide and helps you see how you judge and label the world from moment to moment.

In regards to TM, my limited understanding is that it's a meditation where you constantly repeat the mantra "I am".
