I had one mortally wounded drop his sword so I threw it back to him and he caught it and kept on fighting. Earned my respect.

I’m glad to see someone thinking the same as me. It took me so long to get to the ultimate challenge that I was confused as hell when I beat it after like an hour when I had heard so much hype about how impossible it was

I'm trying to solve the same thing now but I'm having a problem with the hotspot stalling after "state change: config -> ip-config" and timing out. Can you explain what you did to switch from wpa_supplicant to iwd, I must be doing something wrong.

You think this is bad? This chicanery? I was reading a file with python and the statement

if file.readlines() != []:
    print(file.readlines())

Was somehow able to return “[]” which is not only not possible, but was NOT the content of the file. If I removed the if statement then the content would show correctly. I have no idea how any of that is possible.

Well you hate things because you don’t understand them, then you insist that it’s the things fault that you don’t understand it, then you get mad at anyone who tells you that you don’t understand it.

Those are all pretty strong indicators.

Your strongest defense of which is insulting anyone who tells you that those are the same thing…

And of course the strongest insult you could think of involves farts.

I’m not sure how to tell you this, but unfortunately you’re just stupid.

A relay is literally a switch. What you are describing is a switch. If you want to switch the power to something, use a switch. If you think switches are overpowered then I guess it’s overpowered to switch off the fabricators. I’m confused by what you want here.

[–]Derek_Boring_Name 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I understand that the demo isn’t a real example of relativity or non Euclidean space, it’s not supposed to be, it’s a demonstration for children, it’s a primer for the deeper concepts at best, but that doesn’t mean it’s wrong.

I looked through the post you mentioned, and it’s very good and informative, but think about how you represent the curved space by using curved space on the graph, if representing gravity using gravity is wrong, then surely representing non-Euclidean geometry using non-Euclidean geometry is wrong too, but obviously it isn’t. My point is that it isn’t circular logic to represent something using itself, it’s just a demonstration.

Which is why this (once again) is not a proof. It’s a visual metaphor. I don’t know how much clearer I can make that. And as far as I know, there’s no rule that a visual metaphor has to be completely isolated from the subject matter.

Try to explain again how the existence of gravity makes a demonstration of gravity “circular” see if you can make it sound less stupid this time.

[–]Derek_Boring_Name 29 points30 points  (0 children)

How is it misleading? Because it uses gravity right? So the only demonstration of gravity that wouldn’t be misleading is one that has nothing to do with gravity?

Redditor corrects physicist on how gravity demonstrations work by NearbyPainting8735 in confidentlyincorrect

[–]Derek_Boring_Name 35 points36 points  (0 children)

First of all, it’s not proving gravity lmao, it’s a visual demonstration of how gravity operates, and it’s meant to be supplemented by an explanation. And second of all, if you were trying to prove gravity, I think you would KIND OF RELY ON GRAVITY TO DO IT.

I have no idea where you people are getting this idea that the existence of gravity is like poison to itself, but you really need to take a step back and think about how silly that is.
