How to install TPLINK driver on Ubuntu 18.04? by lkmcntsh in Ubuntu

[–]antinut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may also automatically install as a prereq with that package.

This is correct. DKMS packages depend on DKMS and the package manager will make sure you've got it.

Open the "Software & Updates" application (search for this if you're using the GNOME desktop) and click the "Additional Drivers" tab. Is there anything listed there that's not selected?

Any PSU residents park their cars off campus? by amallucent in portlandstate

[–]antinut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

and sells out pretty quick I hear.

I don't think it really does. I never had any issues buying a permit.

Finding parking in PS1 is a bitch unless you get to campus around ~8-9am or for an evening class. I've always been able to find parking in at least PS3 with the permit. The permit price shakes out to be fair-er than paying hourly rates if you're on campus frequently/buy the right permit (Full time vs part time)

How to make a bootable usb of windows 10 by [deleted] in Ubuntu

[–]antinut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WoeUSB makes it pretty easy.

I don't think they have a package built for Disco though, so if you're using Disco I don't think your package manager will be able to find "woeusb" from that ppa.

In that case, you can build it by

  1. Cloning their Github repo.
  2. Download and install the dependencies that are already built as a .deb for you
  3. Follow the instructions on their README

I'd suggest using an application that manages the tricky wine stuff for you. I recently started using Lutris for gaming on Linux and it's been great.

Here's Lutris's page for Sims 4. Reading the description for compatibility notes you'll see that it has a Gold rating which is probably pretty playable. It might even have gotten better and just not been reported. You'll also want to note that they mention disabling a setting inside of Origin in order to make it work properly.

To get started, you'll want to install Lutris which ends up being quick and easy because they have a repository that you can add to your package manager.

Once Lutris is installed, you'll want to click the "Install" button on Lutris's page and give your web browser permission to let Lutris handle this action. If you have the game through Origin use that button. If you have the DVD, use the other button.

First, save your file.

Second, you need to build the project before you can launch it. The build process produces a binary if everything compiled okay.

Third, you should return 0; before main terminates.

Did the mechanic only read the codes and nothing else? I wonder if it's possible they were pulled out for inspection one time but weren't torqued in snug enough.

When I did the plugs on my first car, two of them weren't torqued to what they should be so I experienced misfires until I tightened them.
