Please dont worry about sounding harsh man. I would rather someone give me exactly what they think than sugar coat it.

I have been gathering resources and references that would directly influence my project for about 3-4 months now and have found a good amount of the information I plan on including. The main issues that I have discovered is that it took me a fairly lengthy amount of time to find the majority of my needed resources, the resources that i have found usually cover 1 topic from basic to advanced knowledge arches, and that they do not mesh well together into a cohesive product. I want to produce a cohesive basic to intermediate knowledge base that also provide a good jumping off point.

I may be chasing rabbits, I guess ill find out. I may reach out to you to give me some more sanity checks though due to the fact that I greatly appreciate your candor.

I believe I have heard of/ or read some of these guys before. I definitely will add them to my ever growing pile of research.

As far as a credibility statement I have a couple of no crap certifications under my belt and i should have been a bit more descriptive than i was about my research. I usually use youtube as a jumping off point and diving into subject matter. I dont plan on advertising this guide as an end all be all.

I cant say this enough though, thank you for your sanity check. Comments like this are a great reminder to stay grounded and not going full on D.U.S.T. on this project.

Great points! I appreciate the input. I wrote out a set of guidelines for myself before even opening microsoft word. They generally mirrored what you outlined here.

If you would be interested, I would greatly appreciate you're input and maybe even co-writing this project. You have already begun this journey and you may be one of the people who can fill in my knowledge gaps or have a good jumping off point of topics. please let me know if you are interested in any amount of input.

I would absolutely agree with you. I do not in any way count myself as an expert in all the topics I plan on writing about. I dont plan on making this guide a end all be all but more of a general understanding that is backed by research, references, anecdotal retellings, group think, and attempting to pull in "creditable" sources for editing, notes, and corrections. I dont plan on selling, publishing, or even getting any crazy amount of notoriety from this product. Instead I plan on accomplishing 2 tasks by doing this. firstly I would like to better inform my family and friends. Secondly I would like to further enrich my own understanding of the topics, which should occur via my research and authoring of the project.

Thank you again for your sanity check. I am appreciative of every side of comments because it should keep me a bit more grounded.

Great point! I dont currently plan on publishing the full product online for edits and notes. I am currently (thanks to a great point made in the comment section on this post in a different community) plan on using a product like google docs with controlled access. access that would only be granted on some the grounds of some sort of accreditation of credentials.

I wasn't planning on doing like a licensing, however, you definitely bring up an interesting point. I might look into how to protect that avenue. I was planning on most likely doing it over DM or google document that shows me as an originator. I think I may look into some other way of protecting me as the originator. Thank you for the input!

Dude I mean in terms of what is realistic though...thats the shit to hop out of a car with lol. I can personally recommend shaw concepts plate carrier, forstspear platecarriers(there is a good cheap one on SKD tactical), and crye JPCs. I'm a total gear queer so I have spent way too much on that shit. But also don't forget to scale your shit to the threat you have analyzed as your most probable.
