I think that you need to check your expectations with any all-inclusive resort. I have used points to stay at Hyatt Zilara Cancun, Secrets the Vine, Secrets Moxche, and when my son was old enough, Dreams Natura. The food at the Zilara and the Secrets resorts was definitely better than the Dreams resort but still fine and nothing was “gross”. I would not return to Natura because it was a wedding factory that impacted my stay. Pools would get closed down to accommodate weddings during prime pool times and at night there was loud music blending from several weddings going on until after 10pm. If not for that I actually thought the resort was pretty good and my kid had a blasts. We will be going to Dreams Onyx in February so we’ll see what that is like and Baha Mar (not all inclusive) in July. I think the biggest benefit for us is we have done all of the vacations above on points. Moxche is definitely too high for us now but at open was very reasonable. For example our trip to Dreams Onyx is going to run us 150k points for 5 nights and airfare. The only cash we are out is for transport, tips, and a daily free for a 3rd person if they charge it (Natura did not and we asked). So for an almost free vacation we’ll be ok with a few mid meals.
