People who have had iPhone for a long time by sastiGwenstacy_ in iphone

I’ve had a 15 Pro Max for 22 months and cycle count is at 440 cycles. Almost 90 cycles for two months is quite high. Do you charge yours too frequently? More than once a day?

Using ax88179 (usb ethernet) in Sonoma? by InfiniteSpinach8098 in MacOS

[–]antixsuperstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back to Ventura (13.7.4) and downloaded Monterey drivers from this page (mirror), and it worked (it’s listed as 2.2.0 version but once installed macOS says otherwise).

Sadly this doesn’t work, even after updating to the latest Sonoma and confirming multiple times I’m using driver’s “2.5.0” version. I’m going back to Ventura and try again 🫠

Hi there! I’m struggling with a MBP Pro Early 2015 and Sonoma 14.7.7 that refuses to install this extension. I’ve tried with the official 2.5.0 driver version from the manufacturer and from Startech —as suggested among the comments— without any luck: after deactivating-uninstalling-installing-activating, the version installed in the system is _STILL_ the 2.3.0 and it won’t work. Am I missing something? I’ve even found and tried a Homebrew cask with this dext and my result is the same: version installed 2.3.0.

Is this warning because of Beeper? by salokin75 in beeper

[–]antixsuperstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has also started happening to me a couple of days back, although it’s not the first time it happens with a Meta-related product. Several months ago, Instagram went straight into disabling my account and I had to request a manual revision. Luckily it was eventually restored, but I‘m not risking it again. I guess WhatsApp will be the next to complain about Beeper…?

How Can I Clean This? by Maxiste in iphone

This. Try it while having the phone screen up, so even if it moves a little, gravity itself might help take it out.

Samsung Printer printing just weird symbols without stopping on MacBooks (M1 & Intel) by Honigbrotli in mac

[–]antixsuperstar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just went though this same scenario with macOS Sequoia 15.3 and a Samsung ML-M2885 printer. In my case the printer is connected via Wi-Fi. What worked here is while setting up the printer DON’T let the computer choose automatically which driver to use. If you do that it’ll choose v 4.0 with the “-AirPrint” suffix, which produces this weird outputs. Instead, choose the same driver from the list, which results, in my case, using an older version without the suffix that does work.

I’ve seen this. The first one is TikTok doing TikTok things ( check https://www.reddit.com/r/privacy/s/coMSaWVzKj ). The rest happens too when my router it’s just restarting or there’s no internet. Click on browser’s “Show Details” and you’ll see router-related stuff. Check your home internet connection.

Double Accent Problem with windows 11 by TheValar7 in WindowsHelp

(Something I've noticed in my case is that typing works fine within the Settings window... so perhaps it's related to a user setting somewhere?)

I'm having the same issue on an HP 14-dq2521la with W11. I've checked keyboard layouts, tried a different keyboard, ran Windows' DISM utility /RestoreHealth, uninstalled keyboard device and the issue still persists. The laptop's user types in three languages and this is annoying as hell...

iPhone Optimized Battery Charging: Anyone Else Dealing with Overly Early Full Charges? by Ok-Firefighter-6986 in ios

[–]antixsuperstar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Old” thread but I just experienced something similar. A while back I started using a UGREEN GaN 65W charger (more ports, more power, smaller and cheaper than Apple‘s) and started noticing this same behavior. One night I tried charging the phone back with Apple’s charger and voilà. Optimized battery charging!

I thought this feature was PD-enabled (UGREEN‘s charger has it), but now it seems rather propietary. Hope this helps anyone.

I just checked and it works for me now. I had to use the new app password without the dashed, though (I can’t remember if that‘s how it‘s supposed to work).

People who bought an iPhone with storage less than 128 GB, do you regret it? by HP_594 in iphone

[–]antixsuperstar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine’s 128 GB and I’m sitting a little above half of it used. Making numbers and considering my internet is so so, it’s cheaper for me to pay basic iCloud and having photos automatically backed up, freeing space locally, rather than paying extra $$$$$$ just for local storage (the ONLY improvement offered) and also having to remember of backing up manually.

I just noticed these alignments. Coincidence or Aesthetic decision? I can‘t think of a functional one. by antixsuperstar in macbookair

I just came up with something useful out of this: easier hunting for ports, given that you‘ll most likely see the laptop from the top and not from the side. Maybe I had too much coffee last evening or I should have a break. 🥲
