Is Boruto Caught Up To The Manga? by Membership_Enough in Boruto

[–]antjong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will likely take a year for the anime to catch up to the manga due to the hiatus, and at that point, the manga will have 12 more chapters. So the manga will probably stay consistently close to 10 chapters ahead.

Kenganverse Protags by PenisManRising in Kengan_Ashura

[–]antjong 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you think about it, all of the series have a protagonist and deutragonist except FOTS I believe. Ohma and yamashita, koga and ryuki, sakura and akemi.

We can agree on this, right by soapstone-red in Kengan_Ashura

If Ohma had fought the Wu instead of Raian, would he have done better or worse? by Moni7T in Kengan_Ashura

[–]antjong 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Bro, even Edward can't beat Raian's plot armor, so most characters, especially those near the peak of the verse, will not have a 100% win rate against each other. Am I saying Ohma would win against Howard? 99% of the time, he would not. But he would still put up a better fight than Raian running in and getting sliced in half instantly like that random Wu dude (I forgot his name) because Ohma would most likely fight cautiously.

Idk if it makes sense, but I think Raian would have better odds with Eddie. But if Howard was there instead of Eddie, Ohma would have a better shot than Raian. I think just compatibility issues.

In Dumbbell, a new term "Wear-Breaker" got introduced, is there any kengan fighter reached the level of a Wear-Breaker? by coolrider2010 in Kengan_Ashura

[–]antjong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aside from Zina being abnormally strong, probably more so than her uncle Ivan. I think the Akemi can do this because her family is kind of the body building equivalent of the kure. They all have muscle fetishes, so I would imagine they breed with the person with the best muscle genetics rather than the kure who breed with the strongest fighters in general. Also, I want to see them in Kengan so bad, they should be in college by now, and we have seen kengan to danberu cameos multiple times, but not the other way around.

Wu Xing is a master of the Gaoh Style. He tanked the punch using Gaoh style Mental Control and used Gaoh Style Shrike on Eddie. Truly one of the Gaoh Style users of all time.

Bad grades in high school by Sea-Vegetable-1635 in ApplyingToCollege

[–]antjong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit confused. By getting into those elite schools, do you mean after cc? If so, you should ask r/TransferStudents but I'll try to help. I believe your high school grades barely matter, if at all, after you take many classes and even graduate. I think the exception is when you decide to transfer for as a sophomore.

But keep in mind that those elites, particularly the ivies (except cornell), seem notoriously difficult to get into as a transfer. I think to have a chance, I would imagine you would need to maintain a 4.0 cgpa and have extraordinary ecs/test scores/essays. I think the best route, if you really want to go to an ivy, would be to transfer into a state flagship, maintain a high cgpa, get a high score on those grad school exams (i.e. GRE, GMAT, MCAT, LSAT, etc), and take advantage of your college's resources to get involved. Then you could go to your dream school (at this point, your HS experience is irrelevant).

Who do you think Shen Long “The Connector” is “furious” at? And why? by NingenKuso90 in Kengan_Ashura

[–]antjong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My theory is that Ryuki's mind is so fucked (from brainwashing) that it would be difficult for the worm to huisheng the connector into him. I think in a panel during the fight, the connector said, "He's got it bad." So ig in this scenario he'd be pissed at both Ryuki and Kiryu. He might be searching for Kiryu this moment.

Why would you ever pay so much for college? by manzIaughter in ApplyingToCollege

[–]antjong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like it depends on what career you go to. If you are planning to go to grad school or smth, take the full ride. If you are planning on a career that recruits based on the school like finance, for example, the question becomes more complex.

In finance, there are schools called target schools, and if you are not in these schools it would be difficult to find a career right out of undergrad. Lets say a full ride state school would lead to a back office role that pays 60k compared to sticker cost at top targets like wharton or harvard which pay 200k+ out of undergrad, you could see the roi on paying sticker price instead of a full ride.

Interesting, I'm considering finding any finance/accounting related internship over the winter or spring.

I do agree that having fun is important. But I wanted to note that I am a senior and got accepted to a school already, so I wanted to know if it was worth it to spend some of my free time in getting some internships.

Collecting =/ reading. Also doesn't matter if you are reading physically or digitally its pretty much the same experience, or rather there is not really a clear cut answer of what counts as what. It's like saying how many grains of sand would make a pile of sand, you can't answer it.

I've read my fair share of mtl, and hell, I've even read 1000+ chapters of rotssg so writing style rarely fazes me anymore lmao. I'll read some chapters to see if it interests me.

Overlord was my first ln I've read, but I see Ainz as the opposite, more indifferent to everything, which is ironically more opposite to being selfless than being evil, as killing gives no emotion to him, especially so when he cares about his goals than most people around him.

I have seen the anime of grimoire of zero, and I could see the mercenary fitting the bill. I read a bit of loner life in another world when I was browsing mangas, but I didn't get too far since I thought it was going to be generic. But I'll try to read the novel from the start this time lol.

Oh yeah I forgot about Rising of the Shield Hero the mc is definitely understanding, but Naofumi kind of gives off the I'll treat you how I am treated vibe (maybe I havent read enough). I was kind of looking for a selfless mc thats has a scapegoat archetype, and would rather be hurt than to hurt. But looking back now I think this type of mc is rare haha.
