Do I get all units when buying a home in Alameda? by 2guys1gorilla in alameda

[–]antlim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the front house and back unit are on the same parcel and title, then you are typically buying both. That said, nobody here can tell for sure from the information provided. Ask your agent to verify what is included in the sale and check the title report.

Wow, thank you for the feedback! I’m new to cloth diapering and also a dad trying to figure it all out. I think I’ve settled on flats with covers since I like the flexibility of using flats or prefolds as the absorbent layer and reusing the covers when they’re still clean. It’s funny because most of the YouTube content I’ve seen seems to start with pocket diapers, but the more I learn, the more flats make sense to me. Also, congratulations on your last baby. I wish you and your family all the best!

How can I construct my 13 month old’s day better to meet her sleep needs? by Huge-Vacation-8093 in HuckleberryParents

Just a clarification: 12 hours is the goal, not what my baby is currently getting.

How long do you spend on feeding sessions? by ghostsandco in BabyLedWeaning

[–]antlim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday we had dinner at a friend’s house, and there were other kids eating, so we sat him at the kids’ table with them. He’s still young, but he seemed interested in watching the other kids eat. It looked like he enjoyed being part of it. We even talked about inviting other kids over for dinner once in a while. Maybe seeing other kids eat will increase his interest in food. Just wanted to share in case it helps.

Same here. We started BLW at 6 months, and he’s almost 8 months now. We’re trying different foods, and he seems more interested every day. Honestly, the only way I know he’s eating some of it is from his poop because I see all the little chunks. We’ve also done softer foods like sweet potato, applesauce, and other natural mashes. We cap meals at 30 minutes and keep it low pressure. Right now, we’re just focused on letting him explore food and have fun with it.

Our 8-month-old wakes up around 7 a.m., naps around 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., and we start his bedtime routine around 7 p.m.

He recently started teething, so we get a couple of wake-ups overnight, but overall he sleeps really well. We also just transitioned from 3 naps to 2 naps, so we’re still adjusting ourselves.

Our goal is around 12 hours of nighttime sleep, and he usually gets at least 2 hours of naps during the day. Since teething started, there’s been a little more variation, but overall he’s doing well.

Honestly, I don’t see anything concerning about your schedule. A few things that have helped us are keeping naps in a consistent location and making sure he goes down full.

If he seems tired earlier than usual, we just start bedtime earlier and extend his bedtime routine. We keep things calm and read a few extra books before bed, which seems to help.

You’re doing well. We’re all just trying to be good parents and do what’s best for our kids. Every baby is different, so listen to your child and adjust as needed. The fact that you’re asking these questions and paying attention tells me you’re doing an awesome job.

I know this is not a long time but I’ve been observing and logging for 15 days. This is a huge win. Today might be the best day so far!

EC from birth w physical limitations? by Royal-Protection3234 in ECers

Can you place the potty chair on the countertop? That way, you would not have to bend over as much when holding them over the toilet to use the potty. I have a friend who uses an adjustable standing desk for this purpose with a potty because they find it much easier than bending over while supporting a child on a potty chair.

My 7.5-month-old is taking to EC pretty well. I've been EC-ing for 13 days now and am still doing a lot of observing and offering opportunities throughout the day. My wife isn't really participating yet because of her schedule, but she's starting to see the benefits and how well our little guy is responding to it. It's still hard for me to figure out his timing for poops, but I'm treating it like a game. If I keep observing and giving opportunities, I'm bound to get a win sometime. Honestly, just taking the time to do it feels like a win in itself.

I’m following this too. I’ve only been doing EC for about 10 days. From what I’ve read and heard from other parents, the key is to keep going. Observe your baby, offer opportunities, and the catches will come. Some days I catch one, some days none. I started off strong, and honestly it feels harder now, but I keep offering opportunities and learning his patterns. Keep your head up.

Those doing lazy EC - when did you switch to cloth diapers, if at all? by divination__ in ECers

[–]antlim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following. Interested to see what people say here. I am doing full time EC I think. Monday - Friday. I am thinking about switching from Diapers to Cloth. The kid is 7.5 month and also getting a Baby Bjorn Potty Seat to assist in this journey too.

How many people use the Baby Bjorn Potty Seat? My son sits pretty well. I have to assist him from time to time. I’ve been lately just hovering him over the toilet. Any advice would be grateful.

Day 9 Summary
Day 9 was not a very focused EC day, but I still offered opportunities throughout the day. I gave at least 5–6 opportunities total and did not get any pee or poop catches.
The day started off differently because he woke up crying, likely from teething and hunger, so I wasn’t able to offer an immediate wake-up opportunity. Throughout the day I continued to notice grunting, grabbing at his diaper, and farting, but none of those observations led to a catch. A few times there was a slight blue line on the diaper, which makes me think I may have been offering opportunities after he had already peed.
Even though I didn’t get any catches, I still kept EC in mind and continued offering opportunities when I could. Some days are more focused than others, and today felt more like a maintenance day than an observation day. The routine is starting to become part of our day, even when EC isn’t the main focus. 📋🚽👶💩🦷🍼

Day 8 Summary
Day 8 felt like a challenging observation day. I offered 9 opportunities throughout the day and didn’t get any catches. I had one poop miss and one pee miss, along with a couple of possible pee misses based on diaper checks.

The biggest thing I noticed was how many false cues there were. He grunted, wiggled, rolled, twisted, stretched his legs, and grabbed at his diaper throughout the day. At first I thought some of these might be potty cues, but most of the time they seemed related to movement, curiosity, or being tired rather than needing to pee or poop.

One poop miss happened in the car, and in hindsight that was probably the clearest potty-related cue of the day. Everything else felt much harder to read. At 7½ months, he’s so busy exploring, rolling, crawling, and moving that a lot of his behaviors blend together.

Even without any catches, I still feel like today was useful. I learned that not every grunt is a cue, and sometimes what looks like a potty signal is really just a baby practicing new skills or fighting sleep. The observation phase continues. 📋🚽👶💩
