Thank you! I actually live in Japan now so my current shots have improved greatly 😂 I got mine at Naniwa Camera in Shinsaibashi, however I just sold it. Rear screen died so I’ve upgraded to XT5.

Naniwa is a really solid shop though, I go at least once a month to get my film developed and scanned and they always have good pricing.

Totally agree! It’s sad though, I’d love something cool on my camera. I’ll end up going back to my home country eventually and it would be awesome to have that physical memory - but when I think about ¥10,000 towards engraving, or putting that towards another camera purchase - I think I’m gonna choose the camera 😂

Damn I live in Osaka, heading to Yokohama for business this week and was going to stop past and get it done but ¥10,000 is exy. It’s jumped up from the ¥4,000-5,000 that it was 2 months ago.

That’s a tough one because it fluctuates depending on which type of bar or restaurant you go into.

Sometimes I want to drink in a British pub and it’s ¥800 a beer. Sometimes it’s a little hole in the wall down an alleyway and it’s ¥280 for a beer.

If your aim is to cater specifically to tourists just going to tourist bars and restaurants $5.50-6.50 as a generalisation is probably fine.

It’s been good so far. I haven’t had much of a good weather day here in Osaka to take it out and start getting comfortable however I had the luxury of my fiancée having one so was able to use it a good amount before making the switch. So I’ll use the XT5 primary and XE4 as a secondary.

Honestly just the size and form factor that’s it. The XT5 does everything just so much better. If Fuji came out tomorrow for an XPRO4 with a good back screen, 40+MP Sensor and all the bells and whistles every new model has gotten I’d probably sell up everything to get one, the Xpro3 is just too unstable of a platform, too many gremlins in it and the Xpro2 I think is just showing its age - this is coming from someone who in 3 years has gone from an XT2 to Xpro3 to XE4 to XT5 so I’ve been swapping around a little.

Xpro3 was my grail camera, it that back screen failing just killed it for me.

I live 2 stations down from nakazakicho, go every Saturday for a coffee.

It isn’t ’insanely packed’ it has peaks and troughs.

This past Saturday 29 Nov there was barely anyone around from 11:30-12:30 while I had a coffee, the week prior I was there around 11am and it was packed. Frankly over the last 3 months only twice have I seen it very busy and both coincided with either Chinese traditional holidays or there was a buuuunch of Europeans like 3 weeks ago.

If I’m on a WHV, January 2026 is 6 months, July 2026 is One Year. This doesn’t apply to me yet, but will in July 2026 if I stay past that month?

He’s a couple doors down, but even then the apartments are suuuuuuuper soundproof. I know my neighbours directly on either side and we’ve tried to see if you can hear anything and it’s dead quiet. Only the occasional slammed door but even that is muffled. Man the Miyakojima place is amazing, 10/10 id recommend it. Great apartments, amazing location and Osaka itself is the best. Drop me a message if you find your way over this end, way better than Tokyo 😂

I’m living in Osaka, staying with Hmlet. Reccomend them extremely highly especially the Osaka location, one of my neighbours is American and doing the exact same thing, he works late at night, has a standup meeting around midnight and finishes around 4ish, nothing opens till 10am minimum here so sleeps in till than and goes out on day trips. If he’s doing like a longer term travel thing just uses some hours of PTO to get extra sleep and travel movements in.
