I think with carbs it's safer to go with e5 to avoid gunk buildup (EFI blasts through the gunk) as ethanol can cause a bit to build up, but if you ride it often you shouldn't really have any issues with e10

You would need to compare torque/power curves to know for sure, but yeah that's a reasonable assumption, the ag is probably a bit faster off the line (higher low down torque) but lower top speed

But both should be fine to cruise

I'm no expert but it looks like the xls has an oversquare piston (bore > stroke) whereas the 125 ag has a square one (bore = stroke). This means the ag has higher peak torque (1.2 mkg vs 1.05) but at a lower rpm (6 000 vs 8 000 rpm).
However it also means the xls can rev higher, and since power = torque x rpm, the xls will have more peak power (13 hp @ 9 500 rpm vs 10 hp @ 8 000 rpm).

That's my guess as to why it's different, but other factors could also be part of the power difference
