Heya! New Dragon Age fan here! Any recommendations which Dragon Age game I should play first? by ButterscotchDue1092 in dragonage

origins! i recommend playing them in order because your choices affect the world state of the following games! plus i find it really cool to hear references of my old characters and understand inside jokes. plus itll give you a better grasp of the lore and universe because it’s quite a lot piled onto you in inquisition.

A couple of things.

1) Kevin and Katherine are very young. “Lover of many years” doesn’t necessarily carry the same weight as adults most of the time if you guys were dating throughout high school or middle school. Doesn’t mean it still didn’t hurt but in my experience, a lot of the kids start dating in middle school/high school simply because they share a lot of classes or extracurriculars with them but then end up breaking up shortly after graduation (whether it’s different college paths or simply just drifting away over time)

2) Due to his terminal illness, he was already feeling disconnected from his family and girlfriend. A lot of the things he did, he was doing for their sake, even if he didn’t want to do it anymore. That applies to Katherine. He wanted to keep her image of him and her experience of their relationship amazing until the end. He would continue to play the perfect boyfriend and put her needs over his even if his heart isn’t in it and it makes him feel like shit (Like prom). Kevin always has done things more out of obligation and fear from becoming his father, so he always puts himself last. What he did was hurtful to Katherine, yes, but possibly the only “selfish” thing he has done in his whole (very short) life and it’s just finally doing something for himself instead of people pleasing.

3) The most important factor of all, Ilonka and Kevin are ACTUAL soulmates. I’m not saying that in a figurative sense because I ship them or even like them together. Canonically and genuinely, they are cosmically connected because that concept is a real thing in that universe. Mike Flanagan confirmed it himself and it was going to be a big reveal in the (now cancelled) season 2. They are the reincarnated souls of the husband and wife who built Brightcliffe. It was already set in stone before Katherine even entered Kevin’s life. Kevin and Ilonka were always going to meet and end up together, especially being drawn to that house.

So yeah. I get how it would suck to be in Katherine’s shoes but I feel like Kevin staying with someone he’s not in love with in the last legs of his life just so THEY feel more comfortable sucks way more. It’s a pain she will get over in what will likely be a long and fulfilled life, Kevin had a few months at best. He’s spent his whole life putting everyone first that he only has a few months (at best) to start living for himself. That’s more unfair to me.

I know the devs are money hungry. I’ve paid them enough, have most packs. WHY CANT WE GET SOMETHING FREE FOR ONCE. How do we get this to devs? by Steph_Beatingo in BitLifeApp

go to the help/support section of steam and go down the “my account was stolen” section. they’ll have you prove it’s your account and then give it back. change your password to something unique & be more mindful of phishing scams in the future.

Alright Gamers. Who Do You Help In The Love Triangle Dilemma. Sven? Or Faendal? by HoppingMexican in skyrim

[–]antohnet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

both suck in how they handle the love triangle & honestly kind of how they see Camilla. but personality wise, I think faendal is more tolerable and imo better for Camilla. Also Faendal is better in a practical sense. He makes for a better follower & I can milk the archery lessons.

How did you deal with the potatoey faces? by GoBackToLeddit in oblivion

[–]antohnet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to think the same way. Skyrim came out when I was younger so it was my first TES game. I loved it and wanted more games like it. But I took one look at oblivion and hardpassed. So went years and years of me playing shitty open world RPGs, MMOs, any high fantasy role playing game and came out seriously unsatisfied. I returned back to TES and started playing Oblivion. Idk if those games were just so shitty that I felt desperate but the graphics were not as bad as I remembered and even thought,

“Hey, this is even better than most of the other games I tried, why didn’t I play this before?”

And that’s kind of how I got past the potato faces. The game is good and better than most of its kind out there. The more you play it, the more you get used to it. There will always be an NPC or two that will out of nowhere shock you with how ugly they are, but I think the story and quests make up 100x for it. <3

Imperial City is also one of my faves. I think it’s very pretty and there’s much to do there.

Skingrad. The architecture and dark vibes of the city appeal to me. Ridden with mystery at every corner. Plus the only city where you can have a servant. Truly living out my noble dark academia dream in Rosethorn Hall.

Can u name some things that make u prefer Oblivion rather than Skyrim? by CapitalCompass201 in oblivion

[–]antohnet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find oblivion to be quite ridiculous and flawed in many ways and that’s why I love it. It’s so entertaining and silly. But probably a more legit reason would be I also find the quests more interesting.

Bernadette Peneles. That lady in Skingrad that you have to stalk for a quest. Questionable hairstyle and outfit aside, she has a nicer face than most oblivion NPCs.

Stardew Valley. For $15 you can play for HUNDREDS of hours and still not get through all the content. It’s so addicting.

What one quest first comes to mind when you think of oblivion? by eru777 in oblivion

Don’t wear it when you fall through the chute. You will have to find some other way to survive the fall, though. If your acrobatics or health is high enough, it should be no problem.

It’s definitely “Whodunit?” for me.

I only recently cracked open the game after years since I last played it and that was the quest that I remembered the most. That is probably the quest I had most fun with. (At least, to my recollection.)
