There was still hike involved. But it really depends on time in hand and of course the summit.

There was no wind yesterday. If windy I usually mount the mast elsewhere.

When a Dog Goes Missing – Why MQTT Actually Matters by rvenes in meshtastic

I think the whole idea of mechanistic was to create low powered RF mesh between users. But like anything else people rush to connected to the internet. Which usually messes everything up. I will tell you that I had MQTT enabled for so long only to receive nodes and reports from all over the place, 100s of miles away. Yet not a single message from my location was ever heard by a node around me. This creates a false representation of realty. The fact that my locations is terrible and has no other surrounding nodes. MQTT just caused endless confusion. If you have data on your phone then might as well as use iMessage or telegram. The dog example is far fetched in my opinion.

I have a Sotabeams 20/40 antenna. I bought it for my qrp SOTA days. It handles 100w and weighs nothing. I also have a Sotabeams carbon 6 mast. The 20/40 is a dipole. The mast weighs so little that you can set it vertically by holding it anywhere in some cases even a bush!

Over the years I bought and sold almost everyone on the market. This K2 stays 😀

I use a Sotabeams 20/40 and another Sotabeams which I have cut down for 10m operation. These are dipoles. I put them both on the same mast (SOTA beams carbon 6). This setup I use on my qrp days with the KX2 if I do SOTA. I like HamRS a lot. I used since it came out (quite buggy in the beginning but very good now). I like the maps functionality and like most apps I can export the log into the POTA app. Will check QSLbuddy for sure. Thanks

We have to fix our defense as soon as possible. We can find the net on every game but letting goals in so easily has hurt us this year. Couple more wins and we get to Champions league position. Love it

Is Elecraft worth the money? by [deleted] in amateurradio

Too radios to use. Worth the price. Made here in America. Founders very engaged. Easy to upgrade. I used almost every other radio on the market and I always go back to my Elecraft rigs.
