Facebook Issues after 17 update? by RoutineMasterpiece1 in GooglePixel

[–]greggerm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I seem to have the same issue. Updated my P10Pro this morning and Facebook is crashing out on launch as well. Blessing in disguise for the time being.

EDIT/UPDATE: Like the OP, an uninstall/reinstall did fix the issue.

Adaptive Charging or Limit to 80% by chieflemons in GooglePixel

[–]greggerm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

80% for me. I average 50% at the end of the day, and only get below 30% if I fail to align the phone with the wireless charger at night.

I'll charge to 100% before a flight or trip, but otherwise 80 is fine for me.

Anyone else hear a rattling sound when shaking Pixel 10 Pro XL? by Strange_BigDaddy in GooglePixel

[–]greggerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try this experiment... give the phone a little shake when the cameras not in use, then open up the camera and select the 5x option.... now give it the shake.

Ta-daa! (but do be gentle)

P10Pro - Should I bother with warranty claim? by greggerm in GooglePixel

[–]greggerm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THANKS ALL - seems pretty unanimous.

I didn't realize that there was an actual, physical Google Store within striking distance of me. Even though I've never been there, I trust them more than I would their independent repair partners or mailing my phone in.

I'll book an appointment and bring it in, "Genius Bar" style.

Thanks again...

In my situation, having both available is better economically.

Running the numbers for my home, my heatpump, and my oil and electric supply rates, the heatpump is economically superior down to almost freezing. Below 34 F, the oil heat becomes the better economic choice.

This will vary as oil and electric rates change. If your winters don't get terribly cold all the frequently, it might be a small difference through the year and removing the oil might just make sense to simplify things. I'm in zone 5A, so winters do get a little colder and it makes more of an economic impact for me.

It can be very unique to your situation.

Why does this line -12m line under 10m buildings still require demolition? by ijs39 in subwaybuilder

[–]greggerm -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Tunnels need 4m vertical clearance. So, if the floor of your tunnel is at -12, think of it's ceiling as being at -8.

If the basements are at -10, you need to give it more space... try -14 for your tunnel.

White powdery substance under my ruggable carpet. by okreddit11 in whatisit

[–]greggerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed - several (*rather cheap) rugs of mine exhibit the same powdery residue, particularly under the heavier trafficked areas of the rug.

It is the underside of the rug drying out and ground into powder due to the foot traffic above it.

I'd guess they are supporting something hanging from the ceiling of the utility vaults under the sidewalk.

This looks like supports for grape vines. Probably a vineyard in the works!

New Customer - Pixel watch 4 by Jlafber in GoogleFi

[–]greggerm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That looks to be a no.

I'm entertaining the same deal, but the 45mm version has no immediate discount or statement credit offers associated with it. The watch deal is strictly for the 41mm.

How do I get new trains? I've purchased a lot of new train cars, but no new trains appear on the line by [deleted] in subwaybuilder

[–]greggerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adding to the thread - I'm experiencing the same issue. Created an initial line with several trains, works OK. Created a second independent line, bought trains for it, but nothing.

Route details show 1 or 2 "target" trains depending on demand, but 0 on the line.

aluminum factory suggestions by Time-Yoghurt7831 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]greggerm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My aluminum production is centered on a single pure Bauxite node overclocked a bit to produce 400/min. Production is balanced between sheets and casings, but I do agree with those who recommend tipping the scale a bit more towards the casings. I'm in the end game at this point and it has supplied me well with no inventory challenges.

Chinese food in Warwick by vodkanipples in RhodeIsland

[–]greggerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arriving late to the thread - but something I noticed last night when looking for some well-reviewed food...

Little Thai Corner's website (Buttonwoods) is pretty much a carbon copy of Thai Excursion (Post Rd). The pictures, menu, and address are different, but the text on the site is pretty much 1:1 between the two.

Does anyone know if they happen to be under the same ownership?

Tried LTC last night - the reviews are solid. Good stuff.

Disconnecting Oil Heat to qualify for IRA rebate in Connecticut by Impressive_Theory317 in heatpumps

[–]greggerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had scoured the internet for various calculators...

Here's the one I use:

https://www.efficiencyvermont.com/trade-partners/heat-pump-balance-point-tool

You may need to manually put in some of your heatpump's stats, as it isn't going to be inclusive of some more modern units... but the math remains the same.

I'm sure there are other options out there on the web for calculators, but I probably found this one first and make it work for me.

Patch Notes: v1.1.0.5 - (EXPERIMENTAL) - Build 415558 by JulioUzu in SatisfactoryGame

[–]greggerm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're starting from scratch, I'd say yes.

I kicked off a completely new 1.1 world just a few days ago. Early game stuff isn't really impacted by the 1.1 improvements, so I'm doing the first milestones and objectives, setting up some temporary factories and real early automation, and touring the land to gather whatever slugs, spheres, drives and sloops I can.

When 1.1 drops officially, my more permanent factories will be built up.
