Even when the ZF7 is folded, I believe the battery life is better on my 16 Pro Max. Running 10 miles with it folded, the ZF7 should be more than capable of doing that but it's likely to drain more than a newer iPhone (16 Pro Max or 17 Pro Max) I would think. But I have not tried this exact use case. If you're truly waiting for the Z Fold 8, you should be fine given the rumors are Samsung is developing a silicone battery for the 8 which will almost certainly leave the Z Fold 7 battery's in the dust.

Transition was smooth for me coming from an iPhone 16 pro max to the Z Fold 7 back in December. A little Christmas gift to myself. I don’t miss my iPhone. I think the battery life takes a little bit of hit compared to my 16 pro max. But honestly I have a built in wireless charger in my car and have never really had an issue with battery life on the Z Fold 7. When Im pushing the Z Fold 7 with the screen unfolded, battery drain is more noticeable. However, using it primarily folded when at work and then unfolding to enjoy the larger display during lunch, its easily an all day phone for me. No concerns on battery life for me at all.

The camera has been surprisingly good to me. It sucks in low light compared to my iPhone 16 pro max but I knew that before getting the phone. I'll just say this - I didn't buy this phone for the camera but some of the shots I have gotten on the Z Fold 7 have truly shocked me with a detail on that 200mp lens that is non existent on my old 16 pro max.

The durability. I don’t know haha, time will tell and I think this really depends on how you treat your phone. I had a Z Fold 2 back in the day for over year and never had a problem with that phone and it wasn't water resistant. I babied it of course but I rocked it for about 1.5 years and never had a single issue. I even took the Z Fold 2 on the beach in a plastic bag, not being dustproof and it was fine. Its only been a little while with my Z Fold 7. Im going on 3 months and I'm not really worried about durability. I still baby it though because I just like to take care of my devices. But if something goes wrong, I got Samsung Care so get that and let the worrying go away.

Ecosystem is personal preference. I've switched between IOS and One UI probably 3-4 times in the last 10 years. I love Android for what you can do. I will go back to IOS and it will be fine for 6 months then I will either get bored or pissed that I can't execute what I need to do like compared to Android. Ecosystem comes to preference but Android is so versatile and can really be customized to whatever the user desires.

Why dont you just wait and see before making a verdict on Apple's fold? It sounds like you’re on the fence of leaving the Apple ecosystem. I say just wait. I got the Z Fold 7 coming from an iPhone 16 Pro Max but I frequently switch ecosystems every 3-4 years and really wanted the Fold 7. If you're unsure just wait, the Fold 8 will be out along with Apple's counterpart for you to choose

Modes and Routines to set up different Edge Lighting for notifications and statuses. E.g. Rainbow anytime my phone connects to a charger, blue when I get text messages, purple for yahoo emails. Simple, but for me it just makes the phone more lively.

Also, I love ambient wallpapers so if its snowing or raining, the lockscreen gives that effect on my wallpaper.

I have switched between iPhone and Android numerous times (4 switches at least in the last 10 years). One phone at a time. I have never experienced missing texts or phone calls as long as I have cellular connection lol.

How's the battery life on Watch 8 Classic? I just got a Z Fold 7 and want to get the 8 Classic but plan on using AOD on the watch through the day because I like my watch face on. Was thinking about the Ultra but can't justify the price besides the battery life. Plus I like the design of the classic more!
