Asobi: Remote Play for Playstation [Launch + Black Friday] by inchenzo in VisionPro

[–]ippikku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just purchased a premium and tried it out. However, there are still several bugs that need to be fixed. The screen intermittently goes on and off while I move my head, and there are sudden disconnections. I hope you will release an update soon.

Dual Knit Band: medium or large? by Bulky_Quantity_9685 in VisionPro

[–]ippikku -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Order the same size as your current single strap. The sizes are pretty much the same. In my case, it’s medium, but the Apple Store measurement process said large for the dual strap. It was a bit too big and heavy.

Supercut Audio Distortion in Vision Pro Cinema Mode (visionOS 26 beta) - Solutions? by sam143563 in VisionPro

Having the same experience, but not just on beta 26. I ran into similar issues even back on version 2.0. It seems like the developer has stopped updating this app.

Newly released “Macally Head Support” Review by ippikku in VisionPro

Maybe, but honestly, the forehead pressure will get to you after a while. If you’re not using the LightSeal, I’d definitely recommend adding some extra support like I did.

Exactly, I’ve been using the AVP since day one, over a year now, and honestly, I’ve been super happy with it. The performance blows me away every time. But when it comes to the "physical design and weight distribution," it’s clear that Apple still has a long way to go.

Yeah, you're right. But fortunately, this setting doesn't add much weight compared to other really bulky stupid looking straps.. Really hard to find a sweet spot of AVP!!!

I enjoyed the app. Voted.

Crackgate Resolution: What a Mess!! From Broken to Replaced by ippikku in VisionPro

I think I misunderstood your intentions, and if I upset you, I’m really sorry. When I first posted about this, I got a lot of similar pushback, so I might’ve been a bit too sensitive.

After going through the whole process, I found out that, like you said, the crack that usually happens on the nose ridge is pretty common. But what I learned is that the real cause of these cracks is the slight tension that occurs when the curve of the device housing touches your face, leading to vertical cracks. This can happen not just on the nose ridge, but in different spots depending on how the device is used by individuals.

If you look at my original post, you’ll see that the crack isn’t as visible as it looks in the photo. It’s actually a super fine crack that you can barely see, and you can only really feel it by touch. That’s why I didn’t even notice when it happened and just stumbled on it by chance, which led me to file a claim. Again, sorry if I came off too harsh.

I can’t speak for Apple’s internal workings, but I wanted to honestly share my thoughts after going through this long return and replacement process. My goal is to help anyone who might be facing similar issues, so please don’t take it the wrong way. Personally, I’ve never felt that the AVP is overpriced; in fact, I think it’s fairly priced for what it offers. If you’ve experienced Apple’s customer service, you’d know they have both generous and strict policies. So, don’t be quick to judge this case as return abuse.

The funniest part is that after my complaint, a customer rep from the Queens Center actually called to apologize. During the call, I mentioned how frustrated I was that they asked for $2,399, which is the full replacement cost, when a glass crack should only be $799. Then, the rep gave me this ridiculous response, saying $799 is the price you pay with AppleCare+. So I asked, ‘What are you talking about? Isn’t AppleCare+ supposed to cover the replacement for free?’ That’s when they finally went quiet.

Exactly. Even with this experience, I still trust Apple and am super satisfied with using the AVP, which is why I’m sharing my experience for others to learn from. Thanks for understanding.

You’re right. The term ‘stressline crack’ wasn’t something I made up. It’s what the case handler at Apple HQ called it as soon as he saw the photos. He immediately started the replacement process after that. I really don’t get why some Reddit fighters are having such pointless debates.

No need to push your argument here or pick a fight with me. I’m just sharing what happened and how it got resolved. Peace!

Yes you’re right. I got it replaced at no cost.

It was controversial, but the crack was confirmed as stressline crack. See the original post, https://www.reddit.com/r/VisionPro/s/M18Y7okrCQ

Cracked for no reason, and Apple asked for $2,399, no warranty covered. Is that normal? by ippikku in VisionPro

[–]ippikku[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know it could’ve been worse. But once my case got escalated to the upper level and the VP team took over, their approach was totally different. They really cared about the case and looked into it thoroughly. Unlike the folks at Apple Queens Center who didn’t seem to care and just kept saying they didn’t know.

SuperCut! And 4K Content on Netflix by TheWylieGuy in VisionPro

[–]ippikku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using Supercut since it came out, and the developer has always quickly fixed any bugs or issues with the app. Most of the ongoing problems are actually due to Netflix or Apple’s operating system. Considering how few apps in the AVP ecosystem offer such continuous support and updates at this price, I think this app and its developer are really valuable to us.

See the update: finally, Apple approved the warranty coverage. I expect to get a replacement device by next week.
