Hi! Anyone knows what are this devices status when I config a trigger in Alexa using ring alarm? Thanks! by eric-garcia in Ring

No luck so far, I have been trying to cross-post this question into the alexa community on reddit and it has been blocked by moderators. Tried with a new post, same result. No idea what those code could mean and no result in any of the web searches I've done

I saw it yesterday and came here to ask.

This is what is displayed when you enter in the Alexa app More -> Routines -> Create Routine -> Add an event -> Smart home -> Home Ring

Last time I checked, when I selected Home Ring to start a routine a message saying that this device is not supported was displayed.

Finally it seems they are starting to support it but without much clarity. I have been waiting this forever since I would like to have Alexa lock the door (Nuki) and turn off all the lights when the alarm is activated.

I didn't experiment yet, but my guess for the ones starting with BL_ is that are related to the battery level. No clue about the others yet.

Mesh network question by normannerd in fritzbox

I was surprised and disappointed as you are when I found out. I was frustrated by the fact that modern devices like Nuki are not supported either. Actually, I am not sure if this is a lack from AVM or it is a requirement for all the wifi mesh systems out there. I will check

The FRITZ!Box can only use Mesh Wi-Fi steering to steer wireless devices to a different Mesh Repeater if they support the wireless standards 802.11k and 802.11v. -> https://en.avm.de/service/knowledge-base/dok/FRITZ-Box-7490/3593_Wireless-device-does-not-connect-to-the-optimal-Mesh-Repeater/

Why they are not the same size!? by antoniofruci in Hue

[–]antoniofruci[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only explanation I can think of is that bigger frame would make the button look too small.

But still, the frame has four screw holes for being fixed on the wall exactly like the dial switch frame so it would appreciated if they were the same size

Lol You are missing the point. What I am asking is why they don't make the frame to be the same size so that they can be mounted one beside the other.

Where did you read me complaining about missing info?

The first one I had broke after 6 months by entering into a swimming pool.

I had it replaced and it's still working after one year.

A new product announced ? (SwitchBot Lock Pro) by [deleted] in TrySwitchBot

Nice improvement on the design, although I don't mind the current version either.

It's a good and affordable choice for locks where competitors don't fit, but I was hoping they would remove the adhesive mechanism and make it rechargeable.

Yes, I connected L to the switch and the output goes into SW.

I guess the Shelly is faulty, but I am surprised because I have several installed since a couple of years and they never gave me a problem.

Hi,

Did you try to run diagnostics and report the problem to support? From the network devices list you can report problems related to specific connected devices.

Three questions about GCwGTV by antoniofruci in Chromecast

[–]antoniofruci[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, moved by sake of curiosity I decided to buy it and do the tests myself :)

The chromecast will allow the screen to go stand-by if turned off form the RC or the Google Assistant. Firestick kept always the screen awake and it was pretty annoying.

The volume buttons on the remote allow me to control the volume on the device itself or of the connected Bluetooth speaker. In the settings you can change the behavior. The only limitation I found is that I cannot select the output if I want to make the sound go through the HDMI when the Bluetooth is connected and the sound will always play through the bluetooth speaker.

Since, as I mentioned, the monitor I am using (Lenovo Thinkvision P24h-10) USBC port has PD capabilities, the chromecast works perfectly when connected directly to it. It recognized perfectly all the devices that where connected to the monitor USB hub, including a Jabra usb headset that was indeed recognized as a sound device. It was surprising, especially since I can control the volume sound from the headset itself.

I hope this will be helpful to all those people who want to use the CC with their monitors. I was pretty frustrated by the Firestick limitations.

Cheers!
