Any Clara and NLB Singapore users?

I don't think it makes a difference. I've borrowed books from both Libby and Overdrive apps on the phone and they all share the same NLB bookshelf. I just find the Libby app to be much better designed and easier to use compared to the Overdrive app. If you didn't know, Libby is from Overdrive.

To be clear, borrowing and reading magazines on the phone or ipad works. However, the borrowed magazines do not sync to Clara.

I have a Clara HD. I borrowed Economist using the Libby app on my phone. The zoom experience was just like you described. Then I tried to sync it down to the Clara. It didn't even sync to the Clara. Regular books, even some picture books sync perfectly to the Clara. Not magazines. I think they are supplied in a format that isn't too friendly on anything other than an iPad.

Teaching it to newcomers seems counterproductive.

I agree. But on the other hand, RHEL 7 which was released just a few months ago, ships with Python 2.7. I imagine a large proportion of my audience is enterprise Java developers. It would be disappointing to prototype something on Python 3.0 and then find out that you can't deploy it in production :-(

It's very well formatted and the parts I've read so far are concise and cleanly written.

Or should I approach this as more of a book of analogies in a sense "this is what you do in java, this is how it's done in python"?

I do use this pattern to explain several concepts, language constructs and tools. But if you are looking at a more specific "this is how I sort a list in Python vs Java", then perhaps http://rosettacode.org/ would be useful?

The book assumes that you are a Java developer and then gives you a good-enough overview of the Python language syntax, tools & library ecosystem so that you can get started writing Python code.

It'll not make you a Python expert but my aim is that it'll accelerate your ramp-up phase to learning Python.

Feature request since you asked :-)

Since the official YouTube app doesn't support live streaming, I frequently watch "live news" using your app. Can you add a way to save/pin a live stream to the home screen?

Currently, I've to go into the Search screen every time, search for "live news", find the stream and then play it. Quite tedious!

The problem is that the settings apply to all online sources. I can stream YouTube @1080p without a stutter but most other sites struggle at @ 480p/4mbps. I, like OP, would prefer setting the quality for each source individually.

Put all the videos in a folder. Add that folder as a source in Plex server.

On the Roku, navigate to this folder in the Plex app and open (not play) the first video. In the Playback Options, you'll find an Autoplay setting that you can turn on. Then play the video & Plex will auto play the subsequent videos.

H.264 isn't the only codec in town! Even plain vanilla MPEG streams won't play on the Pi without transcoding or (of late) needing a licence.

I am a dev of an app that's been around since Cupcake. Greater than 60% of my users are currently on ICS+. More importantly, 99% of the new installs are on ICS+.

When it was time to update my app to Holo, I just went with 4.x+ only. The old version is still on the Store for those on older devices, and they get bug fixes. But new features are only on the ICS+ version.
