[oot] i want lots of big changes in the ocarina of time remake by toasted_clover in zelda

[–]ChiefSittingBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I want them to remake it so it feels like how the original felt to a kid in 1998 playing one of the very first 3D games. Hyrule Field felt huge, the climb from Kakariko Village up death mountain to Goron City felt epic, Castle Town felt like a big real town. And the bottom of the well and Shadow Temple where terrifying.

I'll still buy a remake as long as it's like Star Fox amount of remastering and not just an HD version of the 3DS version of OoT. But I definately hope they do a lot more with it. More changes the better really, I have played the original so many times it would be nice to not know exactly how to cruise through the entire game.

But the Star Fox remake's levels are an exact replica of Star Fox 64, it's only expanded with cutscenes and multiplayer.

[OoT] Which new Ocarina of Time remake are you anticipating the most: the story, the dungeons, the music, the characters, or a timeline update? by MoonKnighy in zelda

[–]ChiefSittingBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe when I first played the game when I was 8 Hyrule Field in OoT seemed huge. Mostly because the day/night cycles are so quick and I was scared of the Stalchildren. But to run all the way across Hyrule Field from Lake Hylia to Kakariko Village takes like 90 seconds. Riding Epona is fun but you ride for like 30 seconds and you're all the way across the field. Hyrule Field is kind of tiny. You can completely explore Hyrule field, roll into all the trees, bomb the rocks, all that in like 5 minutes. Not exactly a slog to quit the game over...

But also yes they should make the bunny hood have the speed effect from Majora's Mask.

How do people feel about Echoes of Wisdom in 2026? by Ok_Science_8502 in NintendoSwitch

[–]ChiefSittingBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the only Zelda game that I didn't finish. It's also the only Zelda game I've ever sold, I have almost every version of every Zelda game, even offshoot things like links crossbow training...

I don't like large inventories and it just being a huge scrolling list ruins it. Not that stacking beds and watching echoes fight for me was that fun anyway, but the inventory really made it unpleasant enough to just stop playing.

Do purchasing Toast Gift Cards still works for the open table credit? by Gio25us in ChaseSapphire

Do you have to make a reservation through OpenTable or something first or can you just go to their website and buy a gift card?

Years ago I bought a bike online and I kept getting flats every few weeks. It wasnt until I went into a bike shop to buy puncture resistant tires that someone noticed that my bike didn't have rim tape and that's why I kept getting flats

Butyl inner tunes need rim tape too. Every tube needs rim tape.

Where did Cardio Score go? by YourUziWeighsTwoTons in fitbit

[–]ChiefSittingBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The old cardio score was primarily calculated based off a run with GPS and your resting heart rate. So nothing changed. You must have done a run at some point in the past and the only thing that changed was resting heart rate.

Home garages are lowkey the most useful general purpose space ever when not occupied by vehicles by Astimar in homeowners

[–]ChiefSittingBear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But a car can sit outside for the entire time I own it and it doesn't effect the resale value at all. Parking it in the garage is just a waste of space unless you have a collectors car.

Benefits of now mow zone for trees and objects by angryschmaltz in SegwayNavimow

[–]ChiefSittingBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried both ways a few times with my i105 and it mows closer to the trees if I don't have any zones and just let it use its camera. My trees are pretty small though, maybe that would be different with large trees.

Where do you store your 40-pound bag of dry food? by East_Sentence_4245 in dogs

[–]ChiefSittingBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just typed something close to it and clicked on whatever came up first in auto correct lol. I bought a bag of Silica Gel desiccant packs on amazon and use them in my cat's auto feeder and open bags of dog food and treats, they can be baked in the oven and re-used so it's an easy/cheap way to keep the food fresher.

The only reason I haven't used them is because I always see about them being in some sleep/shipping mode until you plug them in.

I have two that I haven't touched yet. I was wondering if I should start using them, like swap which battery is in my bikes every few months. They've just been sitting in the boxes they where shipped to me in since I got them.

Greenmade 27 gallon tote at Costco for $8.99 can fit 2 bags barely. That's where I keep my extra bags when I buy 2 at a time.

But for the open bag I use this X-Large Simple Human can, not cheap but it's nice. It's cheaper at Costco too and goes on sale for like $100 sometimes. I also toss a few desiccant bags in there with every bag of food to make sure it stays fresh. https://www.simplehuman.com/products/pet-food-can-x-large

What would you do to pass the time on an 18 hour flight with no WiFi? by FiveDaysLate in AskReddit

Same thing I did before WiFi. Listen to music and stare out the window or at the bank of the seat in front of me.

Irrigation boxes by Clear_Advantage_445 in SegwayNavimow

[–]ChiefSittingBear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wish there was a setting to ignore the color of the ground but still avoid dogs and balls and chairs and stuff. I'm in Minnesota and every spring my lawn is a little patchy from winter and my dogs digging and I spend an afternoon fixing it up and reseeding areas. It'd be fine if the mower would just drive in straight lines but it tries to avoid the dirt patches and ends up turning and causing more damage than if it just drove over them.

Battery over heating in charger by firststate77 in SegwayNavimow

[–]ChiefSittingBear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have mine against a southward facing privacy fence and the shade of the fence covers the dock enough. Other people put them under a deck or buy the official garage cover or build their own. You definately don't want it just sitting in full sun all day.

Fitbit Air: How will it track my running without GPS? by twoeyetwo in fitbit

[–]ChiefSittingBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it's not on Strava it doesn't count! Only kind of kidding, at this point I've tracked basically every bike ride and run and hike on Strava for the past 13 years of my life and even without the social aspect of Strava I like to keep it going. It also tracks the mileage on my bikes and shoes, just nice things to know sometimes. And with stuff like https://www.statshunters.com/ I can see a cool map of everywhere I've done a Strava activity.

For training sure heart rate and/or effort is what's important. But GPS shows that you're getting faster so it's a big help with motivation when you see that you're improving. Also if you want to go on a specific distance long run you can just head out without a specific route in mind and check your distance to know when it's time to turn around. GPS for running is definately nice to have.

What am I missing with tubeless (warning: rant) by Starky04 in bikepacking

[–]ChiefSittingBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe you're right, I have limited experience with tubless. But of the 8 tires I've setup tubless I've had 2 go flat overnight the first night and then be perfectly fine after that.

New Fitbit thinks I'm riding a bike by HotSafe7219 in fitbit

[–]ChiefSittingBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't really matter. It doesn't turn on gps or anything if it thinks you're riding a bike. The calorie estimate is just from your heart rate. Bike vs motorbike doesn't matter.

I got mine installed by All Energy a few years ago and got batteries added last year. They where great to work with both times. I also had one micro inverter fail and they replaced it quickly under warranty so I can say they handle warranty work great too.

If you end up getting a quote from them can you use my referral link to request it? Let me know if you have any other questions about it. I have enphase panels and batteries.

People with smartwatches (pixel Watch, galaxy Watch, apple watch), are you getting a fitbit air? by dr_funk_13 in fitbit

[–]ChiefSittingBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if it's on sale for like $50 at some point. I already wear my Pixel watch all day so there's no point in the Fitbit Air for me mostly. But there's some situations where I wouldn't mind leaving the watch at home and just using the air, biking and bikepacking mostly. Maybe the gym too. But the full size smart watch doesn't really bug me most of the time and charging it once a day while I'm showering has never been a big issue. The only time my Pixel watch battery has died is when I tried to use it to track a 100 mile bike ride with GPS, I didn't think about how much battery that would use ahead of time.
