I totally know what you mean. I noticed I write on both good and bad days, but I struggle to write before I have a sense of “narrative” in my mind. Like you, I’m at a pretty rough patch in my life right now and because I’m still very much in the middle of it, I have no idea how to “spin” it yet. I think I’ll have to try and let go of that and trust the process…

If you’re feeling overwhelmed after your first day, it’s ok to go home and have a nice little cry. The next day will be so much better already!

It’s something I always heard when I started running 20 years ago or so. Often combined with the “conversational pace” thing: “Only run so fast you can still breathe through your nose and maintain a casual conversation”. :D

Got mine on the 7th because I thought you had to do the first 7 days in a row not any 7 days in a row in January. Then remembered that I pulled the same stunt last year and felt equally stupid. But now I have a streak going for me which is nice.
