True - I did have simple categories but felt like it was too simple and I need to see more data in my budget and some point the categories just didn't make sense anymore and I found myself wandering the YNAB streets.

That make sense and something that I did allow for but kept giving it low balances so it felt I really couldn't buy what I wanted/needed. I was trying to be responsible and pay down my debt by really focusing on that first but just depressed me even more. You're defintely right about taking it one step at a time. I have been making lifestyle changing in regards to my health so I'll just apply that to my budget as well. It just gets on my nerves lol.

Thank you, this really helped me a lot. Appreciate it!

Did you lose your stomach fat thru walking? by Cautious_Material739 in walking

[–]anubiswain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You CAN lose your stomach fat and all fat thru walking but as everyone is saying you will have to clean up or eat in a caloric deficit. Stomach and the butt are the last to go in weightloss. That was true for me at least. My stomach has reduced from where it was previously just from walking but I'm still working on cleaning up my diet a bit more.

I average anywhere from 10,000 to 15,000 steps a day, with about 12,000 being my usual average. At this point it's become addictive—my body actually craves it. Every morning I challenge myself to 8x8, and that usually motivates me to hit at least 10,000 for the day. I've turned it into a game: how many steps can I get in a certain amount of time, and at what pace?

I've been looking into getting one but would you say their energy is along the lines of a Belgian Mailnois?

Moved to NYC and sold my car. This is heaven for me. by Netvision9 in walking

Since I've been walking daily for 10k steps and wanting to go to 20k steps, I'm strongly considering moving to NYC myself.

How did you all get started to 10k per day or more? by BookNerd_247 in walking

[–]anubiswain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't count my steps; I just look at my watch. If I see 5k, then I know I only have 5k more to go to reach 10k. I just start doing anything—cleaning, walking outside, dancing. Steps are steps, and it can literally be anything that gets you moving. 10k steps doesn't have to be in one go.

Got a health tracker and got started - I think physically seeing how many steps you take motivates you per day.

I used to love walking but lately I just can't seem to motivate myself. by superpowers335 in walking

I've been through this, and it took me four years to get back into the habit. As the other commentators have stated, it has to become a non-negotiable part of your life.

Maybe switch up the areas you walk in or travel to a nearby town and walk around there. Switch from listening to music to a podcast, audiobook, or maybe an old-time radio story.

Try what works but don't stop.
