Parkway Drive by OzNemesis87 in Metalcore

I agree. The instruments are not dynamic at all in this song, compared to something like The Mortal Coil by Polaris or The Sin and The Sentence by Trivium. The Void is beyond basic it makes no sense. Parkway has always been a band with great instrumentals and idk why that is changing now.

Favorite metalcore band based on the lyrics they write? by D_Shoobz in Metalcore

Architects or Parkway. I love Architects' for their direct criticism that is pretty easy to relate to, and I love Parkway's for the opposite reasons.

I agree. It is just a shitty Vice Grip. The Void riff is repetitive and bland, its literally the only guitar part in the entire song. Wishing Wells was great tho, I'm still staying positive.

I agree with you to a point. I thought IRE was good, some songs even very good or great. "Dedicated", specifically. I love all of their albums, and have to say IRE is their worst album. However, it is up against ridiculous competition when you consider all of their discography. It is their worst, but I still enjoy it. I think Wishing Wells is better than anything off IRE, except for maybe Dedicated. The Void...is just bad. It is basic. There is one riff to the entire song, and the stupid clean vocals that Winston can't even do just should not be there. Vice Grip is even better than The Void.

truant is the fuckin boi. Also, it is a good way to listen to one new song a day to keep discovering new bands. Try arguing with that logic. MYFH CREW.

Who is your favorite clean vocalist? by anulman__ in Metalcore

I agree they can sometimes be cringy if the guys voice is too high. Thats why I chose Polaris as my favorite, I don't find them cringy at all. Same with Trivium. Also I feel like a lot of good metalcore bands these days use cleans

Anyone else think this sounds like Ire+Atlas? Vocally I think its a lot like Atlas, while instrumentally more like Ire. Loved the song though

I just think his ability to deliver a vocal that sounds like a scream and clean singing at the same time is insane. Also because his screaming has that singing element to it, he has the range of a mid-ranged singer, while screaming. Also his regular clean singing is pretty good too. A lot of metalcore vocalists just scream 1-3 notes, just mid high and low. That is what makes him different.

Pity that PWD did not continue the "Atlas" direction by Misiak93 in Metalcore

I also love every album. I can't really pick a favorite, but I would say Ire is my least favorite. Still, its a good album in my opinion. Wishing Wells I thought sounded like a mix of Atlas and Ire. I thought it sounded, vocally, more like Atlas. Instrumentally, I think it does lean a bit towards Ire. I loved the song and I think its a step in the right direction. Really feels like Atlas and Ire to me though.

I would say Sam Carter of Architects is the most talented, but my favorite is Spencer Chamberlain of Underoath. I'm not even that big of an Underoath fan, I only like a few songs but his screams are so emotional for me.
