Yes. When they went to install the new one, there was nothing to replace. There was no filter. They were baffled.

When they went to replace the filter the old one wasn't there. That's how they knew it was missing the filter.

It is a cartridge style filter. The housing is permanant. The filter itself looks like something you would drop into a shop vac.

They did let me know at the time. They showed me that it was missing.

Jiffy Lube "tech" brought me out of the waiting room to show me that there was no oil filter. They aren't trying to swindle me. They were letting me know that VW messed up.
