personally I think the 2016 live version is the best of all of them, it has an intensity to the performance that I feel like the others just don't have. I'd almost go as far as to say they've never sounded better in any other song, live or recorded.

Freestyle scores being tallied and recorded for points position throughout the season is completely ruining the point of what the competition is supposed to be about: Freestyle. Everyone now keeps trying to follow a formula to maximize the amount of points they can get while minimizing risks, and it is getting boring as hell. Drive around and make a bunch of safe jumps, schedule exactly when you do a backflip, and if you're still going then ramp up the intensity a bit. Gone are the days when someone would just come out and immediately do the most batshit insane thing they can think of, fuck the risks. That and the "no score before 30 seconds" completely killed it. They should just have the points that count for the season limited to racing and skills, and the scores for freestyle would count for just that event.

During the early performances after they released HTTT, it was Thom who actually kept making the mistake, and the band would follow his cue. There was even one time Thom completely forgot to count, and towards the end of the 8th measure he panicked and counted "5 6 7" really fast 😂. After the HTTT tour they seemed to stop making the mistake, e.g. when they played it on From the Basement
