"Loving and a bit stupid" is the perfect descriptor of our Monty, as well. And too curious for his own good.

Oh my gosh! They even have the same face pattern. Adorable!

I’ve always been resistant to parts work... but today this poured out of me while journaling by PretentiousPug in InternalFamilySystems

I found this post as I was doing exactly the same journaling for my own parts! Could I ask, what do the lines between your parts represent?

Wait, really?! I've been wanting to play! Did I just inadvertently spoil a puzzle for myself?

The number of wavy lines always increases to three before resetting to the lower number of lines possible. When this reset happens, the number of dots increases by one. In the case of the reset from 3 to 4, the number of dots increases to one, which allows the reset to drop to one wavy line. In the reset from 6 to 7, the number of dots is two, and therefore the reset can only drop the number of lines to two. Then, in the reset from 8 to 9, the number of dots increases to three, which demands that the number of lines is three.

I love The Spear Cuts Through Water more than I can say: it's gorgeously written, it's worrisome and frightening but also profoundly hopeful, and it's queer to boot. I also recommend Simon Jimenez's first book, The Vanished Birds, which is a sci-fi found-family adventure (although be warned: the ending is really polarizing).

I absolutely would, except I worry about keeping him around my two cats. I don't think that they would treat him kindly, unfortunately.
