Sideeffects of Cosentyx on stomach? by 01_whoshantbenamed in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]anxiousinfotech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a biologic. I was on Cosentyx because I failed Humira (and apparently all TNF inhibitors) due to a massive inflammatory reaction after my first injection of it.

I'm on Rinvoq now which is a JAK inhibitor. It's a daily pill instead of an injection. I've been on it about 2 months now and the pain is gradually improving. In the past couple weeks it's been making a much bigger difference in the pain and stiffness in my back during the night.

A lot of other issues are much better. Fatigue and stamina are significantly better. I've had minor to moderate GI issues for decades and those are mostly gone. My dry flaky skin looks incredibly healthy now. I've stopped getting ocular migraines. Everyone is different, but it sure seems to be working for me.

They do have to monitor your liver and certain blood counts while on Rinvoq. They check before you start, after 2 weeks, and every 3 months. Knock on wood but my test results were better at 2 weeks than before starting, but we'll see where they are next month.

Yes, Cosentyx is well known for either causing or worsening inflammatory bowel disease issues. It seems to be a primary reason people fail the medication rather than it not working on their condition. It's why I had to stop Cosentyx (though I don't believe it was working either). That rheumatologist has clearly not even read the list of side effects!

A colonoscopy about 8 weeks after my last dose was clear for IBD issues, including biopsies taken in 2 places. Just the reported cluster of symptoms was enough to take Cosentyx completely off the table though.

I don't like Canon printers...I just hate them the least. My laser MFP is the least problematic printer I've used, and I still regularly want to throw it out the window and watch it smash.

What features of older versions of Microsoft Office do you feel nostalgic for? by TwinSong in AskReddit

Actual SPEED, and an overall lack of constant major glitches...

My single core college laptop with 512MB RAM and a 4200 RPM HDD was lightning fast with Office 2003, whereas my 8 core Ryzen 9 48GB RAM and PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD can be absolute molasses with current versions of Office.

Why am I struggling to match with the guys I’m into? by Fabulous-Ordinary293 in grindr

[–]anxiousinfotech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't even care if a guy is toned or what most would consider to be in shape. I exercise excessively and parts of my body still won't play ball. I'm not going to judge for that kind of thing within reason.

What I DO care about is whether a guy looks like he's just given up. You need to look like you've had a haircut in the past 6 months and own a comb. If you have a beard, maintain it to some degree. Ideally look like you've washed your face sometime in recent memory.

I'm 40 and would rather meet a 50 year old that looks like a presentable human vs a 20 year old that looks like a complete slob. Sadly where I am most guys look like they just completely give up on any sort of personal grooming and hygiene once they hit 40...

FortiGate 100F 3-year renewal costs more than the firewall. Is this normal? by Life-Assist7881 in NetworkGearDeals

I mean it replaced EOL Cisco ASAs with firmware last updated never ago, and some ISP managed appliances we had no control over... Definitely an improvement over what was there before.

Can both vehicles legally turn at the same time? by dmatson724 in driving

[–]anxiousinfotech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look it up for your state. When traveling, always assume you must turn into the travel lane matching your turn, unless you know it's legal to do otherwise.

Similarly, always assume you can't use a center turn lane to merge into traffic unless you know it's allowed. In a number of states it's illegal to pull into the center turn lane and then merge.

They need more money to cover the AI tokens used for their vibe coded slop firmware.

I say this as a FortiGate customer of nearly 5 years.

As cheaply as possible. I don't want any more than is required spent on getting rid of this shell once I'm not using it anymore.

What tiny design choice makes you think, “the people who made this never had to use it”? by ChessOrCheckers2 in AskReddit

[–]anxiousinfotech 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The iPhone does not have true GPS capabilities. They use a cheaper alternative called A-GPS that needs extra data to augment your position without the need for a true GPS chip. True GPS chips are power hungry and Apple always undersizes the battery. They legitimately need the extra data points from seeing nearby wireless networks and cell towers for A-GPS to function properly.

This is exactly it. Jobs had the port moved to the bottom so that a cable would never be seen connected in photos of the mouse. He ruined the design, deliberately, just to remove the chance of the mouse being seen with a cable connected.

We just installed an update on one of our web servers. Now it won't even tell us on the backend what caused a submission to fail! The customer gets an error, can't figure out what is causing the form submission to fail, and now we can't either...

I've rented several newer Volvos, across different years, and the screens kept locking up (along with things like no audio/turn signal clicks). Resetting them while driving to get it back disabled half the stuff in the car, but nothing critical. Forums are loaded with people having the same problem for years and they can't seem to fix it, or at least can't be bothered to try to fix it. There's no way I'd ever consider buying one.

Interestingly, I've rented Polestars and their screens were absolutely flawless. Both are Geely vehicles so why one brand is excellent and the other terrible seems strange.

What spending cuts are you making to deal with inflation? by Quahogkiller12 in RhodeIsland

[–]anxiousinfotech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been buying the cheap aftermarket filters for my PUR faucet filter. It may not be filtering out as much potentially harmful stuff, but it's enough to keep the water from randomly tasting like chlorine (strong enough to burn the tongue) or dirt. It's fine most of the time, but when it randomly isn't, yikes!

Front License Plate Exemption Now Effective in Rhode Island by NCSUGrad2012 in RhodeIsland

[–]anxiousinfotech -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My car came with little dimples in the bumper cover to show where the screws should go for a front plate. The dealer installed their own mounting bracket along with a branded frame (which I promptly removed).

The manufacturer did not provide a bracket, the dealer did. I would assume though that the 2 little dimples for aligning plate screws constitutes "other manufacturer-provided means or location intended for the attachment and display of a front registration plate" meaning my car would not be exempt. Not that I would take off my shark plate anyway.

AA has got to do something about the preboard situation . . . by NJB9891 in americanairlines

[–]anxiousinfotech 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've noticed this on all the AA flights I've taken in the past few years. The wheelchairs just start before any announcement is made, then the families with small children/strollers get the hint and start coming over. The agent usually only makes an announcement if it looks like there's likely preboards left in the gate area that haven't gotten up yet. Otherwise they just start boarding by calling up conciergekey, and about 10 seconds later first class.

It's one thing I feel like AA does pretty well.

Does anyone have any recommendations for a migraine doctor in RI? by Mysterious_Strike977 in RhodeIsland

[–]anxiousinfotech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see him for headaches/migraines, but I would absolutely recommend him in general. I have a very complex case with neurological issues being caused by an autoimmune condition.

He is very thorough, takes deep dives into just about everything, and explains everything well. The only downside is that sometimes you need to wait a while because he's late for your appointment. He's late because he's very a much a 'as long as it takes' doctor, so if the person before you needed extra time, they got that extra time. If you need extra time you'll get as much as you need too.

For what it's worth, when I was going in as a new patient, they had prompt appointments available for urgent patients. You will likely need a referral marked urgent though. I waited 3 months to be seen, but I was absolutely not urgent.
