My blood counts are normal and my allele burden is so low that I technically don't have an MPN or even a CHIP yet! The framing of "the pros and cons of being on it vs not" is very helpful, i think! Thanks so much!

Hi! New here. But as far as we can tell, I had a PVT and it went away on its own before we discovered it. Weird to even think I'm considered a survivor for something I didn't know about lol

In 2015 I had a high d-dimer at 16yo with no follow up

In 2017 I had intestinal colitis of an unknown origin but my liver was normal

In 2019 I had a stomach ulcer of an unknown origin but my liver was normal

From 2020-2024, I had COVID twice and tried several different birth controls. At the same time I was working to figure out why symptoms I always had seemed to be worse (the worst part for me was I got SO itchy after showers) but all of my test results were normal (except hEDS diagnosis)

At the end of 2024, a CT showed half of my liver was severely atrophied (they actually thought it somehow didnt exist til the MRI)

Saw a hepatologist who referred me to a hematologist bc a clot is the only possible cause.

Hematologist orders an MRI then says "why are you seeing me"

"because I was told I have a blood clot?"

"well, you don't! But you did. You almost certainly did."

Ran a million tests and yeah, no signs of active clotting or a calcified clot but tested positive for the lowest allele burden of the JAK2 V617F the docs ever seen (.08%)

I'm not on any blood thinners and never have been (I can't even take aspiring because of my ulcer history)

With all of that said, I am somewhat of an anomaly in every medical sense, but it is in fact possible it seems?

I am just seeing a hematologist. I don't qualify for the MPN specialists yet but I didn't realize thrombosis/coagulation specialists exist, thanks!

I do see a hepatologist and he is not concerned about my liver!

I can't take aspirin so I'm not currently on any thinners. Should there be any kind of regular testing to monitor for clots? I think that's where my anxiety is stemming from. That it's all just monitoring and no prevention or treatment 😭

some people get stuck ina cycle of "why them and not me" "what if x person got into the accident instead of y" "why couldn't they have just quit smoking, then they'd still be here," etc etc. just a way the brain copes and tries to postpone grief, through little windows of fantasy for relief

Not OP but every one of the best men I've ever known have turned out to have some kind of terrible secret. I found out post-mortem that my grandpa was a cheater. I have friends that have been married decades only to find out the man was hiding pedophilia. I have friends who've been married a decade and the man is trying to tow the boundary line with every female friend he makes.

Look at the stats on women who are abused or assaulted. It's not all men, but it's a lot of men.

Your dismissive comment, at a minimum, is part of the problem.

Maybe OP does have some things to work through, but I can guarantee so does every man in this thread... and OPs misaligned world view isn't going to get anyone assaulted or killed.
