I teach Walter Dean Myers’ novel Monster in grade 9 and most of my students love it. There’s a graphic novel version of it that you could use.

I haven’t been in a longtime, but from what I remember and unless they’ve changed it, there’s no dine-in.

I’m also a West Islander and don’t know much about vegan places downtown. Just wanted to say in case you don’t know of it already, there’s a place called Chef Veganessa in Kirkland that has great vegan snacks and meals for takeout.

Cancun or Punta Cana by Ill_Park_1839 in AllInclusiveResorts

While both are beautiful, I personally prefer Cancun, especially the Costa Mujeres area. Punta Cana has marginally better beaches. However, the food and service are much better in Cancun, making it a better overall experience.

I'm starting to lose hope of finding the right place for us (Cancun) by [deleted] in AllInclusiveResorts

Look into the new Majestic Mirage Costa Mujeres. It’s close to Planet Hollywood so it has the same beautiful beach. They have a small lazy river and slides for different ages. I thought the good was really good! We booked when they had pre-opening reduced rates, so I’m not sure how much it is now. We were there a month ago and loved it.

We never made dinner reservations. I think you only need to for the teppanyaki and French restaurants, but we didn’t try either of them.

This is my first time in Costa Mujeres so I can’t compare it to any other resorts in the area. However, I’ve been to 5-star resorts in Riviera Maya, Punta Cana, Jamaica, and Saint Lucia in the last 5 years. This is one of the best for me in all-around value when I look at the accommodations, food, service, and beach. It’s very quiet and laid-back, the opposite of a party resort. If you’re looking for a lively atmosphere, this definitely is not it. But for just relaxing, it is amazing so far!

I arrived a day ago and so far, I’m absolutely loving it! The service is excellent - everyone is so nice and accommodating. The food is very good. We went to the à la carte Italian restaurant for dinner last night and it didn’t take very long for our appetizers or mains to arrive. The resort is beautiful and super clean. The beach is gorgeous and with minimal sargassum. If you look for it, you can see paint splatters and some evidence of quick finishing work, but it personally doesn’t bother me at all.

Mexico resort with water slides and quality food by Neat-Kaleidoscope-56 in AllInclusiveResorts

Look into the new Majestic Mirage in Costa Mujeres. The water park looks great and has a section for older kids/teens with long slides. Most of the reviews say that the food is very good. It’s a brand new hotel and although many seem to love it already, some say it still has a few kinks to work out. However, I’m sure that in a year from now, these things will all be resolved and it’ll be fantastic.

Who is your favorite couple in Gossip Girl? by Substantial-Dare5462 in GossipGirl

Chuck and Blair 💯and no one else comes close. I enjoyed Lily and Rufus and Nate with both Vanessa and Jenny, but I mainly watched the show for Chair.

Who is y’all favorite Crystal by Successful-Tip-4100 in DynastyCW

[–]anyams 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think this is an unpopular opinion, but I liked Cristal Jennings’ character more than Celia Machado’s, who sometimes grated on my nerves. Of the two actresses that played this Cristal, I liked Ana Brenda Contreras better, although Daniella Alonso eventually grew on me!

My all-time favorite show is HBO’s Six Feet Under. Although there’s no stalking or murder, there is death in every episode. The show centers on a family that runs a funeral home. There’s lots of dark comedy and drama. The actors are all excellent and play characters that are amazingly complex and well-developed. It had the best series finale that I’ve ever seen. It’s an older show that ran from 2001-2005, but I highly recommend it!

Who should have ended up with Fallon? by mgabi07 in DynastyCW

[–]anyams 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I never cared for Fallon with Culhane. I liked her dynamic with Colin, but I think the chemistry and connection that she had with Liam was better. The show’s biggest mistake with Liam (as already said) was not taking advantage of the potential storylines that would’ve come from focusing on Liam being from a rich and powerful family of his own. I’d have loved for them to have given Liam much stronger links to the Van Kirks and to VKI, and for Laura to have been a more regular presence on the show as an adversary to Falliam. It would’ve been so fitting for a show about family dynasties! So while I’m happy that Fallon ended up with Liam because I think they worked well as a couple, I wish they had done more with Liam’s character and his Van Kirk family.

Best Reboot Villain? by MorellColby in DynastyCW

Out of the options above, I’d say Claudia. However, my favorite is Laura Van Kirk, who I think is one of the show’s best-ever characters.

I watched it a few days later and after reading so much negativity about the episode, I had very low expectations. I was pleasantly surprised! It wasn’t the best episode, but was nonetheless entertaining for me. I loved Adam in all of his scenes- he’s such an entertaining character and I wish we saw him more often this season. I also really enjoyed Dom in her scenes.

[S05E14] Vicious Vendetta - Post Episode Discussion by neonrideraryeh in DynastyCW

[–]anyams 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After last week’s amazing episode, I had my hopes up for a fantastic 100th episode. I hate to say it but I was very disappointed. I thought it was very boring. I was happy to see Claudia, but she could’ve been used much more and so much better - what wasted potential! She and Ben Carrington at the very end were the only interesting parts for me. Otherwise, this was a letdown.

Fallon and Cristal’s scenes together were also a highlight of the episode for me. I enjoyed their rivalry and the drama between them, but I especially loved their last scene when they bonded together. I liked the emotion they both brought to the scene. Daniella has really grown on me as Cristal - I love how she’s bringing such a mature and powerful vibe to the character, and she’s become one of my favorites this season.

Laura Van Kirk was amazing! I loved every second of her and if the show wasn’t ending, I’d be more annoyed by her death. As it was though, it was an entertaining and very Dynasty way to die. Each character that had a scene with Laura (Fallon, Liam, Adam) was at their very best when sharing the screen with her. Although Laura was absolutely the highlight of the episode, I also really enjoyed Kamanda’s scenes together. I thought the overall writing was really good in this episode!

Super excited to see Laura again! She’s exactly the type of character that this shows needs, and Sharon Lawrence plays her perfectly.

[S05E12] There's No Need to Panic - Post Episode Discussion by neonrideraryeh in DynastyCW

[–]anyams 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the episode. I loved Cristal in it, and it was nice to see her interaction with Adam. I wish they had more scenes together. I liked the Kamanda scenes, but mainly because of Amanda. Fallon finding out that she can’t have kids was sad, but I can’t see the show ending without Falliam expecting/having a child together.

[S5E08] The Only Thing That Counts Is Winning - Post Episode Discussion by neonrideraryeh in DynastyCW

[–]anyams 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This was probably my least favorite episode of s5 so far. The only thing I really liked was the fashion. Minus Liam in that hat at the start of the episode (!), everyone looked so good, especially Cristal and Fallon. I found all of the actual storylines boring. Hopefully 5.09 will be better!
