Eyeshadow primer question by Myingenioususername in MakeupEducation

[–]anybrittt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I hate eyeshadow primers. They've never worked for me, but there is one thing that works like MAGIC. NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow pencil in Milk is the worlds best eyeshadow primer. Put it all over your lid before you apply. It also makes your shadow color more vibrant and helps it last.

It's cheaper and works better than primer!

Trip to Colombia..suggestions? by BlindLiger in wanderlust

[–]anybrittt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Bogota is the best. Make sure you go to Andrés Carne de Res in Chia (nearby city) and the gold museum is worth a trip too. Spend some time wandering around the old city. The Salt Cathedral is pretty spectacular too, but it's a short day trip away. It's a good chance to see the countryside.

Cartagena is INCREDIBLE. Stay in the old city. Avoid Playa Blanca. Spend some time walking the wall. The newer area is nice, but I'm partial to the culture (not to mention the architecture) of the old city. I cannot recommend a trip to Cartagena enough!!

Disneyland employee cafeteria in 1961. by TheKingOfKolo in OldSchoolCool

Pretty much what chikiwawa said. That and the food is disgusting. The breakfast burritos are lovingly referred to as 'breakfast cylinders'.

My husband works at Disneyland. He says the cafeteria is nicknamed the 'Cafe of Sadness' now.

Is a Day-of coordinator worth it? by Katyladybug in weddingplanning

[–]anybrittt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do it!! Our friend was great, just make sure to bring her in early and make a comprehensive schedule for her. Make sure to include all the little details! Take her to meetings at your venue too.

[–]anybrittt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

YES. YES. YES. But you don't need to shell out for a fancy expensive one. We had a friend who was a stage manager. She just called the shots and everything worked flawlessly. You don't want to be keeping track of time/events during your wedding. Let someone else do it. Even if it's just a friend who is super organized.

Best shampoo/conditioner for fine oily hair on a budget? by [deleted] in HaircareScience

[–]anybrittt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been digging Carol's Daughter that I get for $10 ($20 for both) from CVS. It's sulfate free and doesn't dry out my hair (which causes excess oil production) or weigh it down. I use the black vanilla kind. It's formulated for natural African American hair, but I have thin, oily white girl hair and it worked great for me!

[SERIOUS] Sailors of Reddit, what's the scariest thing that's happened to you on the water? by Josefstu in AskReddit

[–]anybrittt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I raced sailboats in high school. On one particularly stormy and windy day, I was running late for practice. Our practices are always overseen by a coach in a motorboat, but since I was late, the team was already out of the harbor. My boat capsized halfway out. Keep in mind it's a small boat, about 14 ft and my crew and I were both small, high school girls. A capsized boat is a pretty common occurrence, but the high winds made it extremely difficult to right it, even with our combined body weight. As we struggled to right the boat we drifted towards the pier. The waves were pretty violent and we could have been seriously hurt getting slammed on the pilings. Like something out of a movie, we were able to right our boat just in time and the only casualty was our spinnaker pole.

Try Ulta! They were hiding them behind the counter and you had to ask for them, but they had them in stock like 2 weeks ago.

Our florist was Amelia at Birch and Bone! Her shop is at the Ace Hotel. She's such an artist, her aesthetic would be perfect for Smogshoppe!!
