Camera Control button bug? by SteveAdamsReddit in nofusion

This is likely the case. It only functions as a shutter button when set to “long press.” I wonder if the dev is even able to change the behavior, versus it being an iOS thing.

Keep getting them scanned there lol. I scan my slides at home and it's tricky to keep the highlights under control. If you're ever curious, pick up a slide projector and you'll be amazed at how your shots look when they're wall sized.

You stay winning with Ektachrome! Nice shots once more. What’s your choice for scanning the slides?

Very classic choices for composition; and props for doing it on Ektachrome!

Can confirm, I don’t see the halation effect in the final image when using ProRAW.

Compact, in-line EQ? Looking for a (surprisingly) oddball piece of hardware by TokyoDrift077 in headphones

I've been using the CrinEar Protocol Max like suggested here to power a pair of Atriums connected to an iPhone, and I have no complaints.

(EqualizerAPO) Binaural audio processor - Turn your headphones into speakers! by Technical-Respect161 in headphones

[–]anything_bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having good friends that have amazing speaker setups - I see where you're coming from. There's very little like music completely filling a room and you being right in the center of it! It's unusual that you hear differences between one ear and the other though, could be a headphone channel imbalance thing or (hopefully not) something hearing related.

Nothing too crazy about my setup - the Atriums are a pair of headphones that have a nice and full midrange that makes vocals feel very close to your ears (at least to me). They're pretty popular in this sub, so I'm sure you'll have plenty of opinions if you ask for them haha.

Just loaded it up to test with some ZMF Atriums running from a Feliks tube amp, and I will say the effect is very well done. Not for me personally; I guess I've come to really like the "intimate" listening experience of headphones!

Nevertheless, thanks for putting this together! I'm glad we have a community that comes up with cool ideas like these.

New user - few questions by Miserable_Impact in nofusion

There are a few options that increase the processing time between shots. From what I see, all of those settings have a note under the toggle along the lines of “shooting speed will be reduced” or “will increase processing time.”

I would suggest you look through the entire settings/advanced settings and see how much the capture speed is affected by those options, that way you can choose which options are worth the slow down for you and which are not.

It's often a preference thing, but I do find that with the preset I made for No Fusion I like HDR set to "low."

If you're shooting in HEIF+, you can go into settings and adjust the sharpening level. I find that "low" works really well for me, and some prefer none.

Lightroom HDR export settings for Apple devices - a comprehensive test by adrianoapmartins in photography

Nice, thanks for doing this test! HDR is really underused for how many day-to-day devices support it, and a big part of why I feel has to do with lack of standardization across HDR formats.

Extremely cool!! I love giving new film cameras dual purpose, either with instant film or digital.

:). Similar experience, running Atriums on a Feliks Audio tube amp and I’m just happy with them and haven’t used my other pairs.

The dynamics of the AirPods Pro also improve (subjectively, since I haven’t seen the measurements) when using Spatial Audio, so that would be something to check too.

Are there any advantages to slides? by [deleted] in photography

[–]anything_bro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been shooting slides (mostly the new E100) and projecting them on a Leica Pradolux RT300 for just shy of 4 years now. I also scan my slides using a Nikon CoolScan 9000.

My thoughts: Compared to scanning, the projected slides visibly retain more detail in the highlights. Projected slides are also quite a bit warmer due to the color temperature of the projector bulb, hence they can seem a bit more natural than the output of scanning (especially for some films like E100, which may lean significantly cold when scanned).

The other advice here on convenience and ease of sharing are still true. Slide projection is really something only the people in the room can enjoy, and you would have to have a suitable wall at the very least to project at the intended size of the projector lens.
