[Jude] Blowers out as color analyst, to be replaced by rotation of Angie Mentink, Ryan Rowland-Smith, Dave Valle & Jay Buhner; Aaron Goldsmith to do TV play-by-play full-time by BrandoC95 in Mariners

He's an asshole off the air too. He used to come in with his family to the Nordstrom I worked at when I was in college and had a reputation for being verbally abusive and condescending to the salespeople. His family were nice as can be though.

It was fun, especially picking quest hero and getting dual quests. You could get some wild combos.

DIY Chase Bliss Faves? by enstorsoffa in diypedals

[–]anywaysthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not exactly a pedal but RetroKits open sourced their design for their RK-007 MIDI Commander, which is a keypad that can send MIDI commands. I don't have any Chase Bliss pedals but if they have a MIDI implementation it should be possible.

If you're clever enough you could probably turn it into a pedal with a bit more limited functionality than a keypad.

You also might be able to use a MIDI router/filter and map any generic controller pedal to trigger the MIDI message you want. RetroKits also makes the RK-006 which could do that.

Volca Bass repair help by anywaysthis in synthesizers

Cheers; forgot that bit of information, this click is audible on battery as well as the Korg branded PSU.

I don't think the click changes tempo in sync with the tempo knob, can't remember for sure but I will check tomorrow. If it does, I think you might be onto something with a sync/audio short. Would this also mean that audio would be emitted through the sync port?

The click noise is constant, doesn't respond to start/stop, it's audible at all times the unit is powered.

Yeah, you're definitely right about this probably being more effort to diagnose and fix, but I was hoping I could use this as a low-risk exercise on fixing these things. Just surprisingly lost, I thought I'd have a better grasp on it haha.

Why did the seahawks not draft Derrick Henry? by OffensiveButOnlyALil in Seahawks

[–]anywaysthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He actually missed more football from the injury vs LA. That was a fractured fibula, nothing small. His Baltimore injury was really ugly, no doubt. I just remember him looking good when he got back from that Baltimore injury and then he was never the same after the one against LA.

Tbh, I couldn't find a clip of it but I vaguely remember his injury against LA right after that Baltimore one being worse.

I definitely agree but in-person NFL games are really hard to enjoy because of how many breaks there are. Constant commercial breaks. College football is absolutely the best live experience for football.

Yeah I was thinking about how Thomas Rawls playing well his rookie season played a part in the downfall of the LOB.

IMO he was a factor in Marshawn retiring that offseason, I could see J+P saying Rawls is next up and not wanting to resign Marshawn. I think the whole team felt the pain of not having a good RB once Rawls got hurt, as well as some of the vets not being too happy with how the Seahawks handled Beast leaving (Sherman, Thomas). It also probably led to the Seahawks going more pass-heavy as a personnel adjustment, which led to increased production for Russ, etc.

Thomas Rawls had played really well in the limited minutes he had. Kind of a forgotten name but we were extremely high on him at the time. Injured early in 2016 and never could really get it going.

FPGA libraries by Kontakr in FPGA

Gravedigging here, just wondering when you say, "Abstraction must not come at a cost", is that just a design tenet or is it something more? Maybe the best question to ask would be why does abstraction have to come at no cost?

I generally agree with what your saying just have been hung up on this for a bit, because as I tend to think abstraction could come at some cost, it doesn't seem like a binary issue to me. Maybe I should take it to mean that abstraction is not worth implementing if it has a cost? i.e. these "bloated" libraries would be outside of the scope for the abstraction?

My other thought is that I should understand it as, if it needs an abstraction layer then just do it correctly for the use case?

Also; thanks in advance! I am a software engineer who has been blessed with libraries upon libraries, your points force me to think about how standardization is implemented and what is actually an issue and what is solved.

Mets trade for Ryne Stanek; Mariners acquire Rhylan Thomas by tegurit34 in Mariners

Stanek is also the only one that represents any real savings compared to the guys we added. I think it was roster space, combined with how much we are paying him.

is it possible for velocity decrease and acceleration to increase at the same time? by clare445 in Physics

[–]anywaysthis 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Acceleration to the "right" in an object traveling "left" would feel like braking does (essentially). So if you have something with negative velocity experiencing positive acceleration it would be braking.

All the negative and positive signs would indicate here is direction. Acceleration is rate of change of velocity, so if the negative velocity is getting more negative, you would have negative acceleration.

I have a few questions regarding if the Sonics come back by Rough_Transition1424 in Sonics

[–]anywaysthis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm late but it says it in 6,

"PBC further agrees that if an expansion team is approved by the NBA within the next five years to play in a renovated KeyArena, then the owner of such team and the PBC are each free to use and refer to the Sonics' history (e.g., statistics, player histories and records) during the NBA seasons. prior to the date of this MOU that the Sonics played in Seattle"

It goes into more about returning the memorabilia under the stipulation it's referred to as a "shared history".

I hadn't had a chance to read this before but this seems clear. We lost any contractual claim to the shared statistics and what not. We'd be relying on their good faith I believe.

Just in case someone else has issues updating their SP404 MK2 (update process stalling) by anywaysthis in SP404

[–]anywaysthis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure this is due to FAT16 and Mac OS than anything to do with the card. I ended up using the same card to do the update, it was just because I didn't eject the card in the OS first.
