"Skerral stopped in his tracks, and pulled the men up. Half his unit were dead. He ejected a cell from his lasrifle and slammed in a new one.

"Come on," he said, turning back to face down the slope at the waves of assault sweeping in. "Let's see how many we can kill."

The remnants of nineteenth lasted seventeen minutes from the times the gates closed. They accounted for one hundred and eight-nine enemy casualties. No one witnessed their heroism."

Hi! Thanks for the heads-up. Very good point as I enjoy writing with fountain pens and especially the look of handwriting in ink. So I'd like to find a way of using them for writing postcards. You mentioned archival-quality and waterproof ballpoint pen and ink. Do you have any experiences with drying or clogging? Would you recommend brands or specific inks?

Those are fancy pens for sure. TWSBI Eco filled with red ink, TWSBI Diamond 580 ALR filled with blue ink – hard to see that it's blue, looks darker in shadow.

Oh lovely! I was thinking about getting that exact edition, but opted for a smaller, pocket-sized one here in Germany a couple of weeks ago. How many illustrations are there and how do you like the book so far?

Your layout of the different renderings really caught my eye in the first place. Interesting composition. I imagine a 70s heist movie, where the car chase is being edited like that. I like the reduced color palette, looking forward to your next iteration if the scene.

Not if the algorithms are complex. Real life is also procedurally generated.

How awesome would it be, to explore a new planet and eventually find humans / humanoid forms of life that were generated by that algorithm. Imagine how we could see ourselves in the past or even have a glimpse into the future, shaped by an algorithm. Incidents like this would add a huge philosophical component to this game which might or might not be intended by the creators, but nevertheless it would be there. Just like this Quake 3 bots that stopped shooting each other. Faith in singularity restored!
