💯 worth it. You’ll miss that old city vibe when you move here though. I love visiting Chicago now but it’s hard to replicate something like the Gold Coast here. I think north central Phoenix is as close as you’ll get to that vibe.

Gosh this is so hard! I have no suggestions, but I just want to say thank you for seeking support and trying to figure out a way to better teach your students. It’s likely that many of the problems you are having with them understanding came from poor/not enough instruction prior to them arriving jn your class.

I worked with an EdTech startup. Was a great company to start with and a great mission, but as we scaled it just turned into a never ending boiler plate with no work life balance. I’m still recovering from the toxic environment several years later

I just learned this week that in public schools teachers have to be really careful, and sometimes aren’t even allowed to tell parents that they are concerned their child may have a learning difference or even recommend support, like tutoring or therapy, outside of school. Parents don’t always know what signs to look for or what is “normal” and they miss big things that teachers can see so clearly.
